Description Steam (Français)

Patch Notes - 15/10/24

Hello folks! We have a new update for Flock today that makes quite a few changes to gameplay balance and introduces some new gameplay features to the game. The headlines changes are a reduction in the required amount of creatures caught to become an expert in that family across the board to speed up this process. We have also added an ability to clear your flock completely for those players who find a full sized flock too stressful and messy. We have made various other changes to the game and they are detailed below. These changes along with the changes from the previous update at the end of July are also available today on Playstation and Xbox platforms. Please do get in touch at [email protected] if you have any questions or come across any bugs or issues with this patch. Thanks! Patch Notes - 15/10/24 Larger changes: Reduced required amount of creatures to catch to become an expert in a family across the board to speed up this endgame process. Added the ability to clear your flock so players can return to having a smaller flock if they wish. Added a new quest to remind players to try and wake the Mystery Skyfish if they approach it's cave but don't currently have any Crystal Sprugs. Settings to turn off Expert Glow on creatures and a option to reduce camera shake when boosting. Both are set to on by default. LargeUI set on by default for SteamDeck and improved font sizes in a variety of places including tooltips to improve readability. Smaller changes and bug fixes: Fixed some holes in the ground that were visible when using lower foliage quality settings. Long beasts now leave feeders more gracefully. Fixed issue where camouflaged creatures' eyes would not render correctly on first spawn. Lowered a meadow that was slightly above ground level. Fixed issue where talking to an NPC could override a tutorial. Fixed issue where creatures returning to a flock would be stuck at the wrong angle for the duration of a play session. Fixed issue where expert glow particles were not cleared correctly when swapping creatures in and out of a flock that could cause visual issues. Mystery Skyfish quests restart correctly if a player quits during the chase section.

Flock review: indulge in playful weirdness with a bunch of flying potatoes

My favourite ever mode of travel in games is flying, so I was already poised (in mid-air) to really enjoy swooping around the world of Flock. It's a gentle exploration game from the people who brought you Wimot's Warehouse and I Am Dead (including Pip Warr, RPS in peace) where you never touch the ground, instead gliding around the strange forests and rippling meadows atop a giant bird with a beautiful trailing tail. Big Journey vibes, but more whimsical and colourful. Read more

Avis des critiques et joueurs

Critiques de la Presse (Metacritic)

TeamXbox 90/100

« Yes, Flock comes with an intricate and powerful level editor for easily building new challenges and sharing them with others, which makes for easily building of the 50-level library that comes with the game. »

Games Master UK 85/100

« "Worms" and "Lemmings" are perhaps its closest matches, but Flock! has a fresh feel all of its own and comes with a brilliant level editor, too. [May 2009, p.85] »

Gameplanet 85/100

« Another excellent addition to the host of downloadable games available today. A great puzzle title that is innovative and different, as well as cute and entertaining. A host of levels, and an in-depth level editor mean you will have hours and hours of puzzle fun herding barnyard animals. »

Cheat Code Central 82/100

« Flock! has a few quirks that some players may not fully appreciate, but this is the type of high-caliber title we'd like to see more of on XBLA. »

Official Xbox Magazine 80/100

« While Flock isn't the incandescent flare of pure awesome we'd hoped it might be, it's still a terrifically enjoyable, lusciously good-looking, and admirably original Arcade game. [May 2009, p.79] »

AceGamez 80/100

« I have very rarely enjoyed an arcade game as much as I enjoyed FLOCK! - it's cute, enjoyable, original, funny, quirky and a little bizarre. »

GameFocus 76/100

« Overall, Flock will draw players in with its cutesy and whimsical world. It’s definitely not for everyone, but if you liked the idea of building your own levels in LittleBigPlanet and the adorable world of The Maw, you’ll enjoy the marriage of the two here. But at $14.99, it might seem a little pricey for a downloadable title. »

Gaming Nexus 75/100

« Flock has an amazing sense of style, humor and quirky appeal, but it's definitely not for everybody. If you're the type of person that likes to herd computer-controlled animals, then you're in luck. Everybody else should probably try out the demo first! »
