Excite Truck
Excite Truck

« A fast, fluid, and gorgeous game, with a remarkable control scheme, a gratifying sense of progression, and its own unique sensibility. With a launch title like this, the Wii comes out of the gate swinging, demanding to be taken seriously. »
« A lightening fast and frantic thrill ride from beginning to end, and well worth a purchase. »
« My balance issues aside, Excite Truck delivers a fresh racing experience that emphasizes strategy over speed. [Jan. 2007, p.110] »
« Excite Truck is a very fun, fast, and – dare I say it – exciting return to grass roots arcade style racing. There no tuning to worry about, no license tests, and no underground street cred here. All of those things can be found elsewhere. Excite Truck is just about racing, and it excels in this regard. »
« Okay, so Excite Truck skips a few beats in the way of options and multiplayer modes. But at its core it's a fantastic racer with stunning speed and awesome gameplay. [Feb 2007, p.58] »
« A few more tracks would have been nice though. »
« An amusing arcade racer with heavy emphasis on speed and outrageous jumps. The morphing tracks are nice. It is a bit too short, though. A career mode would have been better. [Mar 2007] »
« It plays smooth and fast, and like a bright flame it burns out earlier than it should. »
Avis des Joueurs (Metacritic)
« It may not seem like much, but THIS GAME IS FRICKIN AMAZING. I LOVE HOW THE TRUCKS CONTROL, HOW THE TERRIAN MOVES AROUND AS YOU DRIVE ON IT. Doing stunts at high speeds in a truck will never not be fun. I like this game »
« Excite Truck on the original Wii is an unexpectedly timeless arcade racer. It caught me completely off guard. I tend to judge people by the arcade racers they love — mine include Burnout, Ridge Racer Type 4, Cruis’n Blast, Super Hang-On, Rumble Racing, and Sega Rally. And now, right next to them, sits Excite **** an early Wii title, the game achieves something I once expected from MotorStorm: terrain that morphs on the fly, jumps and routes reshaping mid-race, full air control, tricks, and a surprisingly smooth, intuitive arcade physics model.I usually dislike gimmick games — titles built around hardware tricks. But Excite Truck might be one of the best uses of the Wii’s motion steering. It’s fast, light, immediate, and genuinely fun to control.Sure, the OST is awful. Sure, the presentation lacks polish. But none of that matters. This is pure, light, high-speed arcade joy, and one of the most underrated titles on the **** you enjoy breezy, explosive racers, Excite Truck deserves a place on your list. It’s far better than anyone remembers. »
« This game is alright. I like the graphics and controls but the gameplay to me is pretty doo doo imo »
« Decent enough arcade racer with crazy jumps and lots of jostling vehicles, rather like a prototype version of Motorstorm. The controls are a little slack but it's a good enough excuse to wave your Wii racing wheel around. »
« The motion controls are fine, but unless you have the patience to play through the unskippable tutorials, then I say you should just skip this game. »
« It's a fine game. The graphics are subpar (even for Wii), and the music is super generic rock to the point that I turned it way down. But other than that, it's a solid and fun arcade racer. ...that is, if it wasn't for the controls. The WiiMote just isn't cut out for steering. It's imprecise and even frustrating at times. I wish I could play this with a normal controller. »
« Very good racer. The controls are near perfect, the graphics are beautiful for a Wii game and it let's you listen to your own music (MP3's on SD-Card). The only reason I'm no giving this game a 10 is the splitscreen 2player mode which is sperated by a vertical line and this makes playing with a friend more difficult than it should be. Still I have to say the 2player mode is good enough to be worth your time. If you own a Wii and you're into arcade-style-racing you should definitly get this »
« A sheer fun, unique high speed racing game, which requires arcade-like skill and precision to land ridiculous stunts and combos and gain an advantage in the race. You've never played a racing game quite like this, and I guarantee it's fun as hell. Screw realism, this has perfect gameplay and will keep you on the edge of your seat. The longevity of the game is also excellent - getting gold medal can be quite the challenge. Your vehicle will race at the speed of a jet and you will tilt the remote to hover mad amounts of time in the sky and land right in front of a vehicle 5 seconds later after having earned a 5 star bonus for hover, then you will at the last minute make a sheer turn and barely avoid a tree after getting the nitro powerup and destroying an entire forest leaving it in a blaze as you fast track to first, barely knowing what just happened. »
