« Overall, Dynasty Warriors Origins is a big, explosive, and massively entertaining action game, and true to its title, a conscious effort by Koei Tecmo to get back to the qualities that so many people have enjoyed from the series over the years. Lu Bu is terrifying, Sun Shangxiang is history’s greatest tomboy, Zhuge Liang is brilliant, and watching all these stories play out with such energy is just utterly brilliant. »

KeenGamer 95/100

« Dynasty Warriors: Origins revitalizes the Musou franchise with a fresh story centered on an amnesiac Protagonist, innovative gameplay mechanics like Bravery and Squad Tactics, and breathtaking visuals. Combining classic 1 vs. 1000 battles with new systems and perspectives, it offers an engaging experience for both fans and newcomers. Omega Force and Koei Tecmo has delivered a promising and polished entry that redefines the series' potential. »

Destructoid 95/100

« Everything that makes Dynasty Warriors great has been built on and amplified in Dynasty Warriors: Origins. The fast-paced combat is more fluid and satisfying than ever, and I think the decision to allow players to build up their own character is the right move for the franchise moving forward. I wasn’t sure how Omega Force could take a series coming up on three decades old and make it appealing to newcomers while appeasing long-time fans, but they found a way. For me, this is the best Dynasty Warriors yet, and I’m excited to see what’s next. »

MMORPG.com 90/100

« Dynasty Warriors: Origins is an entrancing experience that draws you in and keeps you with a vice grip. I lost count of the nights I kept telling myself, “One more battle,” until it was four in the morning. There are small niggling issues here and there; I’d have preferred one or two more weapons, the storytelling still gets dry occasionally and cam suffer from slow pacing, and it’d be nice to have more visual customization for Ziluan. But Dynasty Warriors: Origins is such a success on the levels that really matter, an emotionally resonant story and unforgettable battles, that it hardly matters. It’s a game that both gets back to the basics of what makes a Dynasty Warriors game, while also striking out into new uncharted territory. If Dynasty Warriors 9 felt like a whimper that could end the franchise, Origins is a resounding shout that says it isn’t going anywhere just yet. »

IGN 90/100

« Dynasty Warriors: Origins doesn’t just have the largest amount of enemies the series has thrown on screen at once, it also deepens its combat, improves its storytelling, and provides a healthy amount of replayability. »

PSX Brasil 90/100

« Dynasty Warriors: Origins is a return to the essence of the franchise, reinforcing its elements that captivate fans. With exceptional gameplay, visual improvements and a new focus on narrative, the title not only puts the series back on track, but delivers one of its best games to date. »

TheSixthAxis 90/100

« As someone who has zealously played every entry in the series since its inception more than two decades ago, I’d say Dynasty Warriors: Origins is the best Musou game ever. After years of unsurprising reiteration and plenty of misfires, Omega Force has delivered a smart and super polished reinvention of the Musou franchise that corrects so many of its past shortcomings. »

Noisy Pixel 90/100

« Dynasty Warriors Origins breathes new life into the Musou franchise, blending a gripping narrative with refined combat mechanics and expansive exploration. While the game offers engaging storytelling and strategic depth, occasional pacing issues and repetitive side quests may deter newcomers. »

« I love the new combat but it has one major flaw that gets worse the higher your level/stage level. There's no option to turn off the incredibly annoying action camera that stops you in your tracks every time anything happens on thy battlefield. In the later stages at higher player level this happens so frequently that you struggle to get a single combo off without being constantly interrupted. All they needed to do was add an option to turn this disruptive feature off and it'd be an easy 9 or 9.5 but as it stands it's just far too tedious to play any longer. »

« This is the God of War 2018 moment of the Dynasty Warriors series. brilliant battlefield depiction, an excellent action system, and while there are some odd aspects to the character portrayal, that doesn't stop this game from being a great new beginning. »

« This is not a good warriors game, and I don't care if the whole world praises it. Koei made a huge mistake for thinking the system needed more complexity. They added sub-menu with r1 button in previous games, and now even timed-parry with this game. That's not even a warriors game anymore. Warriors has always been satisfying games, which means less thinking, less learning, and more satisfaction from killing. However submenu gave me more to think, and parry made timing a necessity. It's no longer fun. The more my brain works when playing, the less satisfying. That's not supposed to happen in a brainless slaying game. It's strange cuz they seemed to have realized that the complicated system is wrong, and corrected it in Samurai 5, but now with origin they went double down on the wrong path. Bottomline, only older games are the true warriors game for me, that means samurai 1-3 and 5, Dynasty up to 8 (7 in Asia), and orichi up to 3 (2 in Asia). Peace out »

« I've thought the DW franchise is mid, and the last DW game I enjoyed was DW2 in PS2, but man this one kinda surprised me. Probably my only con is not able to fully control famous officers »

« Dynasty Warriors Origins is a fresh take on the series that was definitely needed. Pros: - The gameplay is the best in the entire series, and feels like a phenomenal AAA action game experience. The different weapons here encourage different playstyles, the use of your own personal troops to be strategically used within battle, the dynamic camera that captures perspective in game that makes everything look more intense and super engaging, and the different abilities and combos you can do all make this an addicting action game that is a must-play for action game fans. - Graphics are very good, which greatly distinguishes it from previous entries in the series - Performance was excellent and that is something worth highlighting considering the overwhelming amount of enemies, allies, and action present in large-scale battles, which is really impressive. - The story I am a bit mixed on (leaning more positively with it though) as I liked what they have done with particular revamps of known Dynasty Warriors characters like Zhang jiao and Dong Zhuo making them far more interesting than they were previously throughout the series. Issues: - I am not much of a fan of the main character’s (MC) inclusion here. Having him only speak a little in-game during battles and not speak at all during story cut scenes seemed pretty dated of a trope for RPG games, and in some ways broke the immersion that I had in the story. - The dialogue lines that the player can choose for the MC does not seem to lead to different scenarios, outcomes, or even relationship statuses with other characters, which makes having the player choose a particular line seem meaningless. - The lack of customization options for the MC is almost non-existent. If you are going to have a MC that is not any other characters that are known throughout the series, and not allow the player to create their own characters for a RPG game like this, you should at the very least lean on allowing players to have far more customizable options for the MC. This also helps with exploring more interesting ideas that are a staple for many action RPGs like acquiring armor with stats, and contributing to builds, which also seems to not be emphasized in this game. - There is an overall lack of replayability for the game. When done all the challenges, 3 stories, and hypotheticals are done there is not really much else substantial to do. This game definitely needed some sort of endgame mode (similar to those given previously in the series) to keep players active and engaged with the game. This is unfortunate because since this game is so fun to play, it **** that when I beat everything there is nothing else substantial to do to give me an excuse to keep playing. »

« love this game. This is the best dynasty warriors game to date. Would love to play as ALL the officers from ALL the 3 factions instead of just the main character, but this is a HUGE step forward. »
