Avis des critiques et joueurs

Critiques de la Presse (Metacritic)

Siliconera 80/100

« Dynasty Warriors 5 fixes the [slowdown] problem by using a smoother game engine. Not only does the game look sharper, but slowdown is reduced to almost nil. »

1UP 80/100

« While ancient China seems forever destined to bust apart at the seams, and Koei seems forever destined to remind us of this, DW5 rejuvenates the series with a series of subtle changes that make it worth taking the plunge yet again. »

Computer Games Magazine 80/100

« What's truly satisfying is these games make history entertaining. [June 2005, p.90] »

Play.tm 80/100

« Any hardcore DW fan will be ecstatic to find another billion hours of gameplay to wade through. »

GameCritics 80/100

« The critic in me tells me this series needs to innovate, but as a gamer I'm once again completely satisfied by the experience. Defying conventional wisdom, Dynasty Warriors is unique in that the gameplay achieves a near perfect harmonious balanced and change would only upset that. »

Electronic Gaming Monthly 78/100

« With the fog finally pushed back to a manageable horizon and smooth gameplay, this is the version to get. [May 2005, p.134] »

IGN 77/100

« Just be warned that this is one long, long fight and even though the game may be epic it would be nicer if it was not quite such a gigantic tale to slowly read through. »

PSM Magazine 75/100

« After seven games in 4 1/2 years, we simply need more evolution in the next iteration. [May 2005, p.74] »

Avis des Joueurs (Metacritic)

deejayrana 8/10

AliB97 10/10

« Dynasty Warriors 5 is the peak of the series a classic formula, massive battles, iconic Three Kingdoms heroes, and endlessly satisfying hack and slash combat. Its refined mechanics, smoother performance, and huge roster make it the most polished and addictive entry of the PS2 era. A timeless gem for fans of large-scale action. »

« War in tribe by tribe will be ending by the lead of good solution and will be a good salvation if we bring the loved ones »

VLG 6/10

« They dropped the progression system from the 4th entry, making It pointless after beating it. »

Kai55 10/10

« Pinacle of the series. Played them all For a long time I've debated 3vs5. Hot take, but I see 4 as a step in the wrong direction and 5 reverted back towards the look and feel of Dynasty Warriors 3. Not sure how DW4 has become a fan favourite, its dull, slow, poorly balanced and the sound effects are close to unbearable to me. If DW4 didnt exist, DW5 would be a seamless, perfect sequel to DW3, however i do miss my bodygaurds! »

Noah- 8/10

« Not a bad slasher. The game features a large selection of characters with different types of weapons and abilities. During the passage of the storyline, the story of the character is told and it is very interesting. But the boss Lu Bu is much stronger than everyone else, I had problems only in the battle with him. »

halfo 8/10

« Great game, best in the saga alongside DW3. Story 5/10 Gameplay 8/10 Innovation 5/10 Content 10/10 This genre is not for everyone, it can get repetitive and tedious too soon. However, the individual character approach for the story mode makes it much more rich and interesting to complete with every character and see their specific cutscenes, rather than just a storyline per kingdom where the warriors end up as mere pieces on the battlefield, with little to non deepness. »

tomflanders 8/10

« The graphics, gameplay, movesets and character choice all improves on 4, but the item and bodyguard system of 4 was epic and it was removed here. »
