Game Over Online 80/100

« Daggerdale, as these things go, isn't bad, and you do get a lot of game for your money here, particularly if you go through it cooperatively. There are never quite enough co-op dungeon crawlers on the market, and while this isn't a particularly pretty or intuitive one, it allows you to kill a whole boatload of monsters while stealing all their money to spend on ways to improve your ability to kill entire boatloads of slightly tougher monsters, and that's pretty much all you need out of this kind of game. »

Game Revolution 75/100

« Though it may not be a technical powerhouse or gain any marks for innovation, it's a decent, party-friendly adventure that lasts a good 12 hours for one playthrough and it will likely be patched within the first week. »

Worth Playing 75/100

« Dungeons and Dragons: Daggerdale is a fine, if unexceptional, game. »

Eurogamer 70/100

« Perhaps the main selling point is the presence of four-player co-op - especially given its online and local credentials. A bit of Gauntlet-style adventuring isn't something to sniff at, and far more enjoyable than button-mashing solo forays, where death results in having to replay entire missions from scratch. Nein, danke. »

Impulsegamer 70/100

« In the end, Dungeons & Dragons Daggerdale doesn't offer the gamer anything new in terms of gameplay but gives players a classic sword and sorcery experience plus 10 or so hours of gameplay. It may not be the most exciting game of the year but considering the cost, it's actually not that bad either. If you are a fan of the classic Dungeons & Dragons rules and game settings than you really should check out this game, provided you like button smashing. »

The Escapist 60/100

« At one point I put the game down and was planning on going to bed, but I soon realized I wasn't as tired as I thought and opted to tackle another quest or two. »

Game Informer 60/100

« Daggerdale is a lengthy adventure, but most of the monsters and quests start to feel reiterative after the first couple of hours. Nonetheless, there are few other places to go right now for a downloadable fantasy game with co-op included. Someone should really get on that problem, because Daggerdale isn't the solution. »

Da Gameboyz 60/100

« Unfortunately, the gameplay experience in Dungeon & Dragons: Daggerdale suffers from a lot of gameplay problems including poor music, shoddy voice work, and a whole lot of repetitious combat. All of these issues ultimately take a lot away from this title, which had whole lot of potential when first announced. Although you have the opportunity to save Daggerdale in the game, there is unfortunately not a whole lot to go on to save this title from mediocrity »

« I liked this game and have got four level 10 characters and have played trough the game four times. however i will say that there is some bad lag when loading new zones which destroys the textures for about 4 seconds, there are also some other major bugs e.g. the last level bugged out so much that it took me and my friend 15 attempts of trying to defend the buggy boss. The game also lack customization which is key in my option in any RPG. Finally this happened to both me and my friend our saves became unplayable you select the character to play but it then pops up an error message. »

« **** worse than a cold McGriddle. So much potential, like Lindsay Lohan pre-Mean Girls. Insulting for anyone whom appreciates the franchise or who are smarter than Lenny from 'Of Mice and Men' »

« A complete disappointment and insult to D&D. This is oversimplified garbage. There are 4 pregenerated characters to choose from. You have absolutely no control over any of the stats looks oreven the gender of your character. If you want a female human mage too bad, you get a male halfling wizard. HALFLING? Who the hell ever heard of a HALFLING wizard before a HUMAN wizard. There are also no gnomes! What the heck? That's a basic race in D&D! If you want oversimplified mindless hack and slash where the goal is to left click at monsters till they drop treasure this is for you. »

« I've played better and less buggy Dungeons titles, however I wouldn't pay much heed to the 3/10 and 4/10 scores on here. The game deserves at very least a 6/10, but I would say 8/10 for its replay value. You can tell the game will last you forever if you put in some time and effort. »

« As someone who has been searching for a decent dungeon crawler on the Xbox 360 for quite sometime, I will say that I'm a little disappointed. I would give this game a 6.5, but that's not option so I rounded down. To start, this may be one of the buggiest and glitchiest games for the Xbox Arcade that you can possibly purchase. Just imagine the worst possible glitches that you can have in an RPG that heavily relies on leveling up various talents. That's right, if a possible glitch you imagined is disappearing talent points, then you guessed it. For some odd reason, at random intervals some of your hard-earned talent points simply vanish into thin air, completely erasing all of those invested points. If all of the points you invested in a certain spell are gone, your character literally unlearns it, and you're required to waste even more points in order to level it up again. The worst part is that the mysterious vanishing talent points never return. Oddly enough, this only happens with half of the character classes, being the warrior and rogue, while the wizard and priest never suffer from this nerve-grinding issue. This is far and away my biggest gripe about this game, and literally **** away huge amounts of fun from it. Moving on, the dungeons and environments are all pretty bland, consisting of the inside of a cave or mine. The enemies are all quite repetitive and are only dangerous in huge numbers, which everything appears in. The storyline is so horrible that after completing the main quest twice, I still have no idea what the game is even about. The final boss fight is an absolute joke, since the actual final boss itself is easy as pie, while his minions are the real challenge, constantly winging ridiculously overpowered superspells at your character. Did I mention that they also never stop spawning? The sound effects are laughably bad, and the score is so forgettable that I cannot even remember what the main menu's music is like. The game is filled with a large host of other glitches, too many to describe in detail, but none that are gamebreaking other than the one I mentioned. The level cap is also a mere 10, so you will have a maxed out character in days. Aside from all of this trash that should've been patched but hasnt, there's still quite a bit of fun to be had. Cooperative play is especially a treat, since it features drop-in and out gameplay with any level characters and surprisingly has very little to no lag. Looting is also as much of a blast as with any dungeon crawler, and the primary combat mechanics of the game still flow nicely. Overall, a game completely bloated with glitches and bugs, and yet, it's still extremely easy to have some good fun here. Single player itself is a drag and not worth your purchase, but if you have a friend or two that are willing to invest $15 and you're waiting for better things to come, than this game will not fail you, especially if you're desperate for a dungeon crawler. »

« Its better then Dragon Age 2 but that is not saying much and it's cheap. It was very repetitive, lacked a map that can scroll, and all of the classes are a bit weak no voice acting and its still better then Dragon age 2. »

« As a game designer in the video game industry for over 15 years, I am at a loss why a company as well funded as Atari would allow such a buggy and terribly produced game to be released. Yes it is only $15 and yes it at times can be fun (when the game functions correctly). I figured that a Diablo-clone with a D&D theme at $**** could you go wrong? Well lets just point out a couple of bugs that should NEVER have been allowed to get past the QA dept: No Saves outside the Sanctuary areas or during quests?? Really? What is this Mario Bros back in early 90s with freaking save points?? Hey Atari, we live in 2011 and we have had save anywhere anytime in anygame for some time **** with it. Cameras **** and many on here have already pointed that out. I'm willing to forgive that, despite almost dying because it **** so bad. Menus have serious issues that, only because I learned years ago to work around buggy games. If you are in store menu and select the sell without prompt button and then click on scroll down on your side, items start to disappear and be sold. Oh and NO Buyback at 100% option if you make mistake when buying/selling?? Sigh, this game had nice potential to be quality Diablo-Lite with D&D theme. Unfortunately this game fails to deliver and has just enough bugs and lack of features that really does make this game NOT FUN. Yet I still tried to play it and just now at level 5 trying to kill the "traitor" character twice as he runs away from you and the camera **** and you can't kill him in time, then bam it starts me over again like I ****?@! You dev people at Bedlam **** and should never make another game again. STAY AWAY and save your money. »

« A total disappointment. For pure playability one could do **** there were just too many little problems to ignore. The control felt cumbersome, there was a tiny level cap with virtually no room for real character development, and wouldn't you know it...I even had skills suddenly vanish from time to time and was forced to relearn them. This game was more trouble than it was worth. I recommend you avoid it like plague. »
