Downwell is a curious game about a young man with guns for boots venturing down a well in search of untold treasures. Make your way further and further down into a darkness filled with nasty creatures and mysterious secrets and collect the spectacular red gems scattered about the rocks. Step into an oddly placed shop to buy some helpful items or level up between caverns to battle well dwelling monsters and uncover hidden caves filled with riches and relics. No two trips down the well are ever the same!

Much apologies for the looong delay in this much needed fix! This update addresses the issue where the game ran at 45 FPS for some reason. It should be back to running in 60 FPS now. Other changes: More window scaling options Previously the game only let you scale to x4.5 in size but now it should be able to be made bigger Window centers much less often now Removes Steam leaderboards for now Downwell leaderboards have been filled with cheaters with impossibly high scores, and to my shame there's not much I can do about it so I'm removing it for now. Sorry :( I promise to implement a more cheat-proof leaderboards system in my future projects! That's it! Thank you for playing the game :)
Downwell and Space Hulk: Tactics are coming to Xbox Game Pass for PC
Game Boy-style platformer Downwell and board game adaptation Space Hulk: Tactics will be added to the Xbox Game Pass for PC next month.Downwell will be added first, on August 1, with Space Hulk: Tactics coming on August 8. Confusingly, the announcement also lists Slay the Spire as a future Xbox Game Pass for PC game, but it's already there—what's new is that it's being added to the console Game Pass.Xbox Game Pass for PC is currently $5 per month at its introductory price, and offers access to 100-something games through the new Windows 10 Xbox app. One downside is that games which are moddable on Steam probably aren't when purchased through Microsoft. Slay the Spire really is better with Steam Workshop access, so if you like it, you might consider picking it up a la carte at some point.And, obviously, Game Pass being a subscription service means that if you cancel your membership, you lose access to the games. If you don't mind having fleeting experiences with them, though, you can get more than your money's worth in a couple months and then cancel. According to the site, Microsoft is still offering the first month for $1.Earlier this month, Microsoft added Night Call, The Banner Saga 3, Killer Instinct Definitive Edition, and For The King. « (Reseña sacada de mi cuenta de Steam: APolChrome) Downwell es... curioso. Es un juego con un género muy moderno (como son los rogue-likes), pero muchas cosas muy arcade. Pero, lo hace sorprendentemente bien. No me lo he pasado antes de escribir esto por pereza, porque engancha que no veas. El gameplay es el mayor exponente del juego. Es simple: eres un hombre que baja por un pozo con unas botos pistola. Ya está. En 4 fases con 3 niveles cada una (sin incluir el boss final), tendremos que demostrar nuestras habilidades como bajador de pozos. Los controles son sublimes y es frenético como pocos juegos, aunque a veces se pasa de frenético , teniendo demasiados enemigos en pantalla. La vida es escasa y eso el juego lo sabe. Conseguir vida es difícil y te dan 1 punto la mayoría de veces, por lo que no puedes tirarte a lo loco. Pero para eso están los estilos, que añaden pequeñas variaciones (como no tener mejores, tener más vida...) al gameplay y que hacen todavía más distinta cada run. La mecánica más grande del juego (y la que le da variedad) son las mejoras. Al igual que en la mayoría de juegos del género, al superar un nivel, nos darán la opción de escoger entre algunas mejoras. Algunas son de ganar vida de manera directa (como la manzana, que da 4 PS al instante) o indirecta (como la de consumir enemigos muertos), que al conseguir gemas suceda algo (como que se recarguen las botas pistola o que suelten una bala para arriba) o efectos que afectarán a como juegas (como el dron, que duplica tus disparos). Aunque no reinventan cada partida, si que las varían bastante y hacen que cada partida tengas que plantearla de manera diferente. Audiovisualmente, es un juego de máquina arcade casi, con gráficos 8 bits y una música del mismo número de bits. No me extrañaría que con lo imaginativa que es la comunidad alguien haya hecho una máquina arcade para Downwell, porque le pega estar en un salón recreativo. Como la narrativa es nula, solo voy a decir que Downwell me parece un juego muy sólido y que por 3 €, puedes llegar a sentirte un ladrón ante tal robo que estás cometiendo. Recomendadísimo (sobre todo para ratitos de 10 minutos en los que no sabes qué hacer) »
