By blending gameplay with music visualization, Audiosurf puts you inside your music in a way nothing else can. Use your own music to create your own experience. The shape, the speed, and the mood of each ride is determined by the song you choose.

What are the biggest improvements from Audiosurf 1?

Ever-expanding new ways to play with over 500 and counting player-created mods and skins on Workshop.. Additional layers of strategy tied to the song’s biggest moments. In-game leaderboards let you compare your score moment to moment against your friends and rivals even when they’re not online. Enhanced graphics quality. Ability to search for music. Available on Mac and Linux!

What’s new about Mono mode in Audiosurf 2?

In Audiosurf 2 your timing in mono mode is more important than ever. You’ve got to strategize to get your grid full at the most intense moments of songs to get the most points. Look ahead in the distance for corkscrew loops with powerups to know when these moments will occur.

What do I get in the demo?

The demo allows players to play any song they want, for their first 3 songs. After that, they can play the Song of the Day, everyday, as many times as they want.

Is there a mode that focuses on dodging blocks?

Yes, there's a new Ninja mode. It has a big bonus for hitting no spikes and creates intense spike fields to weave through. It’s faster than regular Mono and the second-to-second challenge of avoiding spikes is harder. For even more challenge there’s ninja turbo. It’s too fast for you.

What’s new about the Puzzle modes in Audiosurf 2:

Just as with Mono mode, your timing on Puzzle modes is now more important than ever. Push, Shuffle, Erase, or Scoop blocks at the just the right moments to take full advantage of multiplier powerups that come at the most intense moments of songs.

Can players make their own mods and skins to share on Steam Workshop?

Yes! There’s detailed documentation on making Audiosurf 2 skins available here:
Also, every mode and skin in the games comes with the script source code and assets. Players can use any of the official modes/skins as a starting place.

Audioshmup, Basspusher, new skinning features, and steamdeck!

Two new play modes have been added: Audioshmup and Basspusher. Audioshmup Surf your way through bullet hell! Audioshmup is about weaving through bullets while shooting at the boss (automatically). Shots from the center score the most points. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/4622983/72dc440c9d623d84cddf3bc4d98513f2c9916a73.jpg Basspusher Introducing Bass Blocks! Basspusher is a two-color puzzle mode with a new twist: the red blocks come from the bass in the music while the blue blocks come from overall intensity. With both of them on the track at once there’s a lot to push around and quickly form multicolor matches. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/4622983/1dba013b7547adfdd293eb5d0c1b06d918d7c41c.jpg New skinning features The skinning possibilities in AS2 have been massively upgraded thanks to work from community member DeathByNukes. It will be exciting to see what modders can do with these new powers - especially unity asset bundle loading. Details are here, with more coming: https://as2-doc.deathbynukes.com/ Audiosurf 2 is great on Steamdeck! The joysticks are awesome, but I like surfing with the trackpads (and gyro) even more. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/4622983/6df13792e54a95a3d121680a68ac384795715ea0.jpg edit: Workshop is now fixed - thanks for the reports.

10 New Songs Added!

10 New Songs! Audiosurf 2 now comes with 10 more built-in songs (in the Recommended section of the song browser). Like the others, these are hand-picked as some of the best rides out there. https://steamcdn-a.akamaihd.net/steamcommunity/public/images/clans/4622983/d487b187b12ad8d6c534326cfefd5ccbbf262f1e.png The Murder City Devils (Rock) 5 Murder City Devils songs are now included with the game! These songs have been inspiring me for years and were some of my most-listened back when the original Audiosurf algorithm was coming together. In fact, one of the first Audiosurf screenshots ever released was of Flashbulb (it has the song name at the bottom, but I wasn't able to find it). It’s so awesome for me to be able to share these songs here! The five songs are: Flashbulb, I Want A Lot Now (So Come On), Press Gang, Rum and Whiskey, and 364 Days. Audioshield Theme (Epic) A new custom composition for Audioshield (that also plays great in Audiosurf 2)! Winifred Phillips worked hard to make sure the composition created great gameplay moments and it really paid off. Break of Reality (Cello Rock) One of their most popular songs, Spectrum of the Sky, has been a favorite Audiosurf track of mine for years. In approaching them about licensing it, I discovered Helix which also creates great gameplay. Enjoy these two! Surgeryhead (Electro) An up and coming Irish musician working in the direction of bands like Carpenter Brut. Audiosurf 2 now includes two really great tracks from him: Revelations and She’s a Runaway.

Avis des critiques et joueurs

Critiques de la Presse (Metacritic)

Softpedia 85/100

« Audiosurf 2 is a worthy successor to the original experience. While Mono mode is, of course, the main star, you can find quite a few other interesting modes that provide a change of pace. While on its own the game is quite good, by factoring in the user-created modes and skins, Audiosurf 2 becomes even better. »

Brash Games 80/100

« It may be short but it is really sweet. »

IGN 75/100

« The representation of the music is just so much more alive than it was before – these courses absolutely buzz with life and energy. »

Multiplayer.it 75/100

« Another ride on your favorite music, with more graphics and less polish. »

SpazioGames 75/100

« If you want to relax and listen to your music Audiosurf 2 is a good pick. The introduction of Steam Workshop works well and adds variety and depth, whereas the UI has some issues, and the management of the music library is a bit tricky. »

CD-Action 75/100

« The algorithm that builds tracks based on songs is outstanding, but when its novelty wore off and I got bored of feeding it mp3s to see what happens, I returned to Audiosurf less and less frequently. [08/2015, p.68] »

Riot Pixels 71/100

« In the music industry, there is a thing called ‘second album syndrome’. Dylan Fitterer could not avoid it, too. He removed all the obvious thorns of the original Audiosurf, but added just a handful of new things, like integration with Steam Workshop and SoundCloud, new color schemes and a new gameplay mode. It’s not enough to entice me to switch from the original game to the sequel. »

LT_Gruber 10/10

« Fun little game with a ton of new features. Audiosurf 2 is an improved version of the first game with some new shiny visuals, many more modes to play and a built in track list. I really liked this second Audiosurf game. It just offers so much more than its predecessor. Although the game is mostly the same as the first game, there are some unique new modes. Some are all right, others are great. You now got a dude on a long board, riding the waves of music, making super jumps at certain peaks, you got a obstacle course mode in which certain nodes are walls that you need to slide under or jump over and, of course, all the classic modes from the first game. It offers a lot of new variation, although I mainly sticked with the classic modes. In terms of graphics, the environment and light effects in the background look stunning. It really adds depth to the tracks you are surfing and the nice solid black in them let the colors pop out. Your little ship also received a small upgrade. The blocks are now oval balls instead of the rectangular blocks from the first game. Although fine, I preferred the use of rectangles over the round shapes. Instead of grey blocks, that you need to banish to the bottom of your que to make them disappear, you now need to avoid distortion spikes that do not have a lasting effect on your playing grid. It is a nice upgrade from the first game and looks a lot easier. However, your punishment for riding over them is a screeching sound in your headset that screws up the song for a moment, something that you want to avoid obviously. The sound effects are a little overwhelming, one of the reasons I (and I think many others) turned them off immediately so you could focus on the music that you are surfing. Speaking of the music, off course you can still add your own tracks, like the first game, but Audiosurf 2 features a big build in track list with a lot of unique artist and tracks that I did not know before. When I tried them, I immediately fell in love with _Ensnare_ and its tracks and a lot of other gems that I discovered this way. It is just surprising to discover how many great build in music tracks this game provides right from the start. Although I really like the new music Audiosurf 2 comes with, I still hoped that there could be some way or integration with Spotify in the future or in Audiosurf 3. It would make life so much easier. Audiosurf 2 is just a great game and the best “music surfing” one, in a series of many. It is simple but effective and in this installment, it just offers so much more than the first game, especially with the low price in mind. I would definitely recommend this game. »

deadbank 7/10

« Basically just a really good music visualizer that also happens to be interactive. »

Taylord99 7/10

« A simple and amusing little game that will entertain you for a little bit, but is ultimately not worth $14.99 »

laurix 1/10

« Now that streaming has been removed its officially useless which is really sad since I fairly enjoyed it before it got **** by youtubes new policy »

MaxiRE123 8/10

« Well, I find the base content to be pretty similar to the orginal. What it those have new is the steamwork modding support and the integration of soundclound mostly. There are both nice addition that will keep the game replay value, even though I don't think It's justify the price. Especially if you own the orginal, if not, get this one around 10-15 buck. »

gloriouspotato 7/10

« Very familiar to the original Audiosurf. There are some new game modes, but they all pale in comparison to Mono, which is simple and places the music at the forefront rather than a mediocre puzzle game. Aesthetically, the game is pleasing and while Soundcloud implementation is a nice touch, I don't see it as something that will garner a lot of usage. Overall rating - 7.0/10 »

xDaudex 8/10

« Pros: The look and feel are better than the first game. Integration with Sound Cloud Mod support Cons: Similar to original Can be hard to find songs that other people play depending on your taste in music. »

Onrush 8/10

« Great way to pass some time. Never played the first game, so I have nothing to compare it to. Minus for no spotify support, no ingame audio player and unpolished, unorganized UI. »
