Twelve years on, AudioSurf gets an update outta nowhere
At twelve years young, beat-riding arcade game AudioSurf just got an update out of nowhere. All casual like, Dylan Fitterer has just posted some changes to the game including some new aspect ratio goodness and an update to make corkscrew twists on the roller coaster style tracks feel cooler and more earned. (more…)
Corkscrews and Widescreens!
{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/1035253/cdc69d0ba3a799ef49801f7cef7daddbba5eefe1.png Widescreens Widescreen scaling is now handled much better. This is especially noticeable on ultrawide monitors, but it's an improvement for 16:9 displays too (Audiosurf was originally designed for 4:3). Most of the menu screens do still fully stretch. Corkscrews Corkscrew twists were completely random, but now they highlight a big moment in the song. There's still the same 25% chance of a ride having a corkscrew (except for songs that really want one and therefore always have one). You can now play in narrowscreen too if that’s your thing. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/1035253/c5fd77fd953548d3db5b493b9e819d2dabd2eef0.png Have fun! Dylan

Critiques de la Presse (Metacritic)
« I can see anyone coming back to this again and again over the next few years, and that's more than enough to justify the peanuts they're asking for Audiosurf. »
« The game is simple, it is good, it includes the Orange Box soundtrack, and it's a 10-dollar title that will outlast many 50-dollar games. No more words are necessary; only action is needed. »
« The game is simple, addictive, and fun, and the way the track moves and shakes to the beat of the music will keep your attention much better than most casual games. »
« AudioSurf is very good value for money. It’s fun, fresh, and addicting. »
« Obviously a work of passion, Audiosurf is a game that must not be missed by anyone, especially with an above average interest in music. »
« The basic fusion of the core puzzle gameplay and the dynamic spin that the music applies to this is delightfully successful in itself, but is stretched even further by a drive for perfection. »
« As any addicting game goes, you can lose hours in its flashy presentation or just play a few songs before going to bed at night. Either way you will get your moneys worth. »
« Audiosurf revels in its simplicity. »
Avis des Joueurs (Metacritic)
« This is my favourite "modern" game. I can pick this up and enjoy it any day. I can play it for half an hour, or hours upon hours depending on pure willpower. The only limitation is your own music collection. One of the best gaming experiences I ever had was trying different genres and tracks and seeing which fit the game the most, and trying to get the world record on every track. At one point I was a competition with a random guy from halfway around the world that was trying to beat me on two tracks I had world records with. Every time he beat me I would spend a few hours shaving off a second trying to beat his score, and every time I beat his score he'd do the same. I've played this game on my first gaming pc, my laptop, and now my steam deck. I wish there was a VR version now that I've played Thumper (201) on PSVR2 which has much a similar style. I liked AudioSurf 2 but never quite liked it as much as AudioSurf 1. »
« AudioSurf is tons of fun—when it works. Unfortunately, it's a buggy mess. It tends to freeze in the middle of songs; the audio continues, but you lose control and all visual feedback ceases. I've found this can be somewhat mitigated by changing the resolution, but even that is a hit-or-miss solution. Overall, it's worth picking up if it's on a great sale, but in its current state, I cannot recommend paying full price. »
« "Audiosurf" is a delightfully fun and compact game that lets you ride the waves of your music, adding a unique twist to your favorite tunes. The concept is fantastic - it transforms your music collection into a colorful and interactive rollercoaster ride. However, it is worth mentioning that the game requires offline music to fully enjoy this mesmerizing experience, which might be a drawback for some users. Despite that limitation, the gameplay itself is a blast. Audiosurf combines the joy of listening to your favorite tracks with the thrill of arcade-style gameplay, creating a captivating fusion that keeps you hooked for hours. It's an excellent way to unwind and immerse yourself in a mesmerizing world of sound and color. The game's mechanics are simple yet engaging. As your chosen song plays, you navigate a futuristic spaceship-like vehicle along a pulsating track. Your objective is to collect blocks or match colored gems according to the beats and tempo of the music. The rhythmic synchronization between your movements and the music creates a captivating sense of flow and achievement. "Audiosurf" boasts a user-friendly interface, making it easy to pick up and play. It caters to a wide range of music genres, ensuring that players can enjoy their preferred tracks while exploring various gameplay modes. The game's adaptive level generation means that no two rides are the same, enhancing replayability and keeping things fresh. However, it's essential to note that "Audiosurf" doesn't offer the depth or complexity of some larger-scale games. It leans more towards a casual gaming experience, making it perfect for quick sessions or relaxing moments. In summary, "Audiosurf" is a gem **** that brings your music to life in an interactive and visually mesmerizing manner. Though the requirement for offline music may be a drawback for some, the gameplay experience is well worth it. So, if you're looking for a fun and engaging way to enjoy your music collection, give "Audiosurf" a try – it's a great little thing that packs a lot of enjoyment! »
« Fun game with good synchronization. Audiosurf is a fun little game to pass time. Although the game is simple and repetitive it remains fun to play. You choose a song, wait for the game to load and then ride your music! Pick up blocks, make matches and score the highest amount of points. The game is a little broken because when you want to score high on the leader board, you just pick an incredible long and difficult song, name it whatever song you want, and the game will post your score in the appropriate track leader board. The animations are cool and the sync between the music and the pathway is pretty well done. I enjoy playing it when I am bored or waiting on something else to download. For the low price, it is worth it! »
« Relaxing project, many opportunities to play your favorite song, from cover to cover »
« Incredibly unstable, badly optimized, bad options and just terrible in general If you get the game to work properly, it's okay I guess »
« Best game out of the 2 audiosurfs, to say sadly, Audiosurf 2 wasn't cutting the edge as most. »
« Очень не стандартная игра для своего времени, сейчас подобных игр конечно целая куча. Игра отлично подойдет для меломанов, и по моему мнению просто идеальна для диджеев, чтобы быстро и с удовольствием ознакамливаться со свежескачаными треками. »
