« No other fitness game goes this far to motivate you to continue after the first week. »
« You will have a lot of fun playing it while at the same time getting into better shape and becoming more healthy without even realizing it. »
« I love how it combines hard training and unapologetic difficulty with the real-life personalities who serve as your trainers: much like the gymnastics coaches who saw me through days of torn palms and taped shins, this tough-love attitude kept me focused and on track. »
« Simply put, UFC Personal Trainer stands as the best fitness game on the Xbox 360 Kinect to date. This visually solid game will get your heart pumping as you learn various MMA moves while getting in shape. This game will not only benefit those looking to build strength and drop a few pounds, but it will also serve to be a great introduction for those looking to get into the MMA sport. While there is still some room for improvement, the fact remains UFC Personal Trainer is a solid purchase for those who have been holding out for a fitness game that delivers on all cylinders. »
« Despite these respectful niggles, UFC Personal Trainer is successful purely because it's fun. Summoning up the will-power (and body-power) to exercise in the middle of Winter can be a daunting task. »
« There's never been a better time to channel your competitive gamer spirit into some real results. In the end, UFC Personal Trainer will have you feeling the burn and getting in shape, while having fun doing it. After a week and a half with the game, I already noticed increased muscle mass and more definition on my own body, and you can do the same, provided you stick with it. Make sure to check with your doctor before taking part in any exercise routine, especially one as intense as this one. »
« Say what you will about the little things that make UFC Personal Trainer a little clunky to use, I used it and I got results. In the end, that's what counts. »
« If you own a Kinect, want to work out, and are interested in combining those two pursuits, this is a solid bet. Mixing proven routines, tons of boxing/MMA moves, and a macho, no-nonsense look and feel, this has serious potential to upend EA Active for many. EA's game still has the edge in terms of trainer feedback and the sheer variety of activities, but the focus on kicking ass (or, at least training like a real ass-kicker) here is incredibly appealing. Just be sure not to over-extend or bang your joints! »

« So I was looking around the local Gamestop for a new Kinect game and saw UFC Personal Trainer. Checked the metascore, and it ranked fairly high. So I foolishly purchased it. 1) THQ should be ashamed of releasing such a buggy product. This is worse than when Bethesda rushed Fallout: New Vegas and NPC's faces were on backwards. 2) THQ needs to hire programmers for whatever developer made this waste of a DVD (there's a reason why Zuffa's logo is smaller than a stamp on the back of the case) that can properly code for the Kinect sensor. Not only do I have to recalibrate the Kinect to point at the floor EVERY SINGLE time I want to play the game, but then it will randomly pause during every workout session because it loses track of my body frame or the way I'm moving doesn't fit into it's ridiculously unrealistic motion that the Wii-quality trainer is miming to me. 3) If there's an option to turn off the tutorials for the workout routines, I haven't found it and refuse to invest the time searching through the labyrinths of menus for it. I wasted $50 on this game and have no other recourse but to sell it back to Gamestop opened for 1/10th of the actual retail price. Thanks. »
« Having been using 'Your Shape' I was hoping UFC Personal Trainer to be somewhat more exciting and providing extra features. Was it? Has it? No. Straight off the bat, the loading times were huge. While the menu's looked nice, the actual ingame graphics are shocking. We're talking worse then the original Xbox. But graphics aren't everything obviously. I began the 30 day program and it crashed half way through. Yep, total freeze. And as there's no midway save (that's right, an hour of excising will not be saved unless it's complete), I had to restart again. Which means the damn 10 minutes warm up needs to be repeated. Of course you can skip parts, but this takes just as long as the session anyway to do. Think the horror of Microsofts "Are you Sure?" buttons. Those glory days are back! Attempting to move to another activity, it will once again runs you through the boring warmup. And it will keep doing this for every activity until you complete that activity. By this stage I was fuming. So how good was it reading ones movements? For general stuff like punching, it's very good. But the moment I had to lean forward, it couldn't read me at all. In fact, it wasn't possible to complete some activities without skipping them. Retuning the kinect made no change. Strange as only UFC Trainer has this problem. 'Your Shape' works fine. So what about versatility? Compared the 'Your Shape', it felt very shallow. Your teeth will grind with the continuos looping of voice and the limited amount of different movements made it feel like a $10 game. And moving from one excercise to the next one required more loading time. It's strange but rather then feeling the calories burn, I felt my patience burn. It had the **** ability to insult ones intelligence. The final straw came when it failed to read any movement and ended saying "That was terrible!". Yes, it was terrible. The whole game. One cannot understand how it can appear so rushed, no polish, and yet they spent so much time on it. And the no save feature will lead you to stab your own eye for relief. I'm sure if you absolutely love MMA, you'll overlook pretty much everything and let your imagination take you to where the game is trying to reach. For the normal person looking to get fit or remain fit, carving off your fat with a knife is less painful. One for the bargain bin. »
« tracking issues and redundant in-game voice-overs aside, UFC Personal Trainer is the most interesting fitness game on the Kinnect i've played so far. playing through the many features unlocks videos on how how to stay fit in general. as a piece of software, i felt THQ was very lazy in polishing the game's smallest details... like the stretching part, why is there a timer? i always end up stretching one more side than the other. tracking has always been the Kinnect's problem. unless you play naked or wear spandex in a 20x15 ft living room, the repetition counter will always screw you up the same way you'd never get a move right in Dance Central. the genius of this game is in its contents: workouts tailor-made by UFC trainers and done by fighters. that alone is worth buying this game if you're really serious in getting fit in your living room. »
« I should probably state that UFC Personal Trainer is one of the better games on the Kinect, but that in itself doesn't mean much. As a fitness game it delivers in some respects and for the most part the Kinect holds it's own, but ultimately the experience falls on its face, with terrible body tracking and the usual "Kinect" problems surfaces. The game gives the impression of being incredibly polished (I especially liked the menu system), but Kinect's latent inaccuracies rears its head (whether this is an issue on the hardware side, or software based, I can only speculate). My score is probably a little harsh, but UFC Personal Trainer has potential, hopefully the sequel will provide the definitive fitness game. UFC Personal Trainer for Kinect does not deliver. »
« The game delivers on the promise of presenting a program that will get results. Check out the UFC Personal Trainer community site for more reviews and testimonials. »
« Will get you in shape, if for no other reason than frustration that it won't register your moves, causing you to repeat reps and literally work your ass off to complete the exercise in the time allotted. The rep counter resets when a rep isn't detected, so if you get to 90% completion and it doesn't detect a rep, back to zero you go. Good variety of exercises not seen in other games. If you have an interest in possibly taking up MMA training at any point this game will get you acquainted with much of the terminology and techniques that you will be exposed to in the gym. I would say that this game is the Insanity of Kinect exercise games, so if you come into this with some fitness base and good hand/eye coordination you should be good. If you need a good fitness base and more hand holding I say start with The Biggest Loser Ultimate Workout for Kinect. If you're looking to get in shape, whether it be to build strength and/or lose weight, and gyms and personal training are to expensive, you can't go wrong with UFC Personal Trainer. 7/10 +Does what it says it will do, help you get in shape +Customizable workouts and programs +/- Boot Camp style training -Tracking is very sketchy, especially for ground routines -Trainer feedback on performance is useless »
« To start with a simple interface where you can choose programs of 30 or 60 days to lose weight, increase our strength, or improve our resilience, but we can always choose to simply separate activities. Kinect response in this game is very good except for those years in which you have to lie on the ground as lizards. Must always warm up before any exercise routine and post-activities to avoid cramps. These games should be folded into the language of each region as it is not possible to be doing the exercises while trying to read some subtitles barely make out. In spite of this and the lack of a heavier and motivating music to throw punches, the game continues to be the most mature and accomplished among the best games available on the market Fitness Kinect for both fans UFC and for those who want to lose a few pounds. »
« This game may not make you a Paquiao but it really helps you get right in the action of training boxing. As far this is the best workout game for Kinect, I am really looking forward to see what EA can deliver for us coach potato gamers. »
