The Simpsons Wrestling, développé par Big Ape Productions et édité par Activision et Electronic Arts, est sorti le 23 mars 2001 sur PlayStation. Ce jeu de sport et de combat est le seul titre de la franchise Simpsons à avoir été publié sur cette console. Il propose vingt personnages, tous doublés par les comédiens de la série, qui disposent chacun de leurs propres mouvements, gestes et attaques spéciales dans le ring. Les combats se déroulent dans des lieux en 3D inspirés de Springfield, et un round s'achève lorsqu'un lutteur maintient son adversaire au sol pour un compte de trois, le tombé pouvant être effectué alors que l'opposant est face contre terre, contrairement aux règles traditionnelles. Remporter deux rounds permet de gagner le match. Accueilli avec une note moyenne agrégée de 38,41, le titre a reçu des avis contrastés : Gamezilla! a salué des contrôles simples et un rendu artistique et sonore poussant à y revenir, tandis que GameZone l'a qualifié d'indispensable pour les fans de la série, amusement et divertissement garantis. À l'inverse, certains joueurs sur Metacritic ont regretté une intelligence artificielle particulièrement faible, l'un d'eux jugeant l'expérience très mauvaise, tandis qu'un autre l'a décrit comme le meilleur des pires jeux jamais joués.

« I tried this game because I heard a lot about it, I thought, cmo'n it's a Simpsons fighting game, how bad can it be! Boy was it bad, the AI is dumber than homer and peter griffin combined, the models look terrible, there are only one or two moves, the game doesn't tell you any instructions and just throws you straight into a match, the other characters outside the ring, while moving, look like cardboard cutouts!!, all this and more made one round of this game enough for my whole life. »
