The Simpsons Skateboarding, développé par The Code Monkeys et édité par Electronic Arts, est un jeu de sport sorti le 12 novembre 2002 sur PlayStation 2. Utilisant le moteur RenderWare, le titre propose de patiner dans une Springfield reconvertie en skate park pour le Annual Skate Tour, parsemée d'objets et de lieux emblématiques de la série télévisée. Neuf personnages sont jouables pour la grande compétition, chacun disposant de plus de quarante mouvements uniques, et les joueurs peuvent s'affronter à deux ou explorer les modes Freeskate, Skate Fest, Trick Contest et une variante H-O-R-S-E, débloquant au passage personnages, lieux et planches supplémentaires. La durée de la trame principale est estimée à environ cinq heures et demie, contre vingt-cinq heures pour une approche complétionniste.
L'accueil critique fut contrasté, avec une note agrégée de 38,21. Cheat Code Central a salué un jeu qu'il a trouvé nettement plus engageant et amusant que Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3, tandis que G4 TV a estimé que le parcours de Springfield offrait suffisamment de profondeur pour satisfaire la plupart des fans de la série. En revanche, certains joueurs sur Metacritic ont exprimé leur déception, déplorant un jeu peu amusant perçu comme une copie de Tony Hawk, ou regrettant un système de collection de planches ennuyeux et une modélisation 3D jugée médiocre.

« I have never played any tony hawk game's but i can tell that is WAY better then this, is just tony hawk with the simpson's logo, no story and terrible control's, it started with the intro, the music, the composition, the effect's are just **** with into the game it starts to go down hill, the control's my god is it busted, kind of as bad as dark castle for the sega genesis, i tried spinning while going up a ramp, i could not for some reason, i seen the characters spinning in the intro but i could not do it, with every thing you do doing a trick, failing or EVERYTHING, you all way's get commentary from kurk witch gets annoying really fast, as for glitch's their's a lot out the ass, don't buy this game for any fun you want, want a good simpson game? go get simpson hit and run or any the other ones from the nes or sega genesis, not this worthelss thing, i give it a 2/10 »
