Développé par Ivory Tower et édité par Ubisoft Entertainment, The Crew: Motorfest constitue le troisième volet de la série éponyme. Initialement conçu comme un contenu additionnel pour The Crew 2, le projet a évolué vers un titre autonome sorti le 14 septembre 2023 sur PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S et Nintendo Switch 2. Ce jeu de course et d'aventure en monde ouvert propose une version réduite des îles hawaïennes d'Oahu et de Maui, offrant un terrain de jeu varié où les joueurs peuvent alterner entre voitures, bateaux et avions. La structure s'articule autour d'un festival automobile découpé en « Playlists », des campagnes thématiques explorant des pans de la culture automobile comme les muscle cars américaines, le street racing japonais ou les véhicules historiques, complétées par des activités annexes et le mode Custom Show pour la personnalisation esthétique.
Côté multijoueur, l'expérience repose sur le Grand Race, rassemblant jusqu'à 28 participants, la Demolition Royale opposant huit équipes dans un chaos destructeur, et le Summit Clash pour la compétition de classement. Le titre nécessite une connexion permanente via le launcher Ubisoft Connect et est proposé au tarif de 69,99 euros, avec une période d'essai gratuite limitée à cinq heures. La longévité est estimée à une vingtaine d'heures pour l'histoire principale et plus du double pour une complétion intégrale. Le suivi post-lancement s'organise en saisons annuelles payantes : le Pass Année 1 apporte 25 véhicules, l'Année 2 introduit l'expérience PvE Chase Squad et 20 véhicules dont la Maserati MC20 Cielo ou la Nissan Skyline GT-R (R32), tandis que l'Année 3 ajoute 20 nouveaux modèles mensuels, dont la Ferrari 12Cilindri et la Zenvo Aurora Agil, ainsi que le concept Cadillac Ciel pour les détenteurs des passes précédents.
Sur le plan de l'accueil, les agrégateurs de notes reflètent une réception globalement favorable, avec un score de 76 sur Metacritic, 77 sur OpenCritic et une note agrégée de 75,73. La presse spécialisée a salué une progression notable par rapport aux opus précédents ; Gaming Age y voit « un grand pas en avant » qui laisse espérer plus de variété dans le genre, tandis que GameSpew le considère comme « sans conteste la meilleure entrée de la série », capable de rivaliser avec Forza Horizon 5. Du côté des joueurs, les retours sont plus contrastés : certains regrettent des restrictions d'accès liées au géoblocage et l'obligation d'être constamment en ligne, d'autres pointent du doigt une expérience multijoueur, notamment en Grand Race, souvent gâchée par le comportement des adversaires. Les avis positifs sur Steam mettent en avant la beauté des environnements, un comportement routier agréable et la variété des playlists, alors que des voix plus mitigées soulignent une qualité inégale malgré une esthétique soignée et un contenu généreux.

« Overall, I’d say The Crew Motorfest is a big step up from the prior games in the series, and gives some hope for additional variety in open world racers in the future. Granted, it sticks pretty close to the same formula that Forza Horizon has, but there’s enough differences between the two to make this still feel like a worthwhile use of your time. It’s a gorgeous game in motion as well, which doesn’t hurt. As far as complaints go, mine are pretty minor, in that I don’t care for the limited fast travel system that’s only tied to the intro areas for each Playlist, and I wish the server didn’t time out as quickly as it does when you go idle. Outside of that, I’ve really dug Ubisoft’s latest attempt at an open-world racer, and I think you will too. »

« Single player races are quite fun, but multiplayer (Grand Races) are worst multiplayer experience ever. 19/20 of races are ruined by actions of other players. About half of those are intentional by grifters. That 1/20 are "no collision" mode races. Can't understand why there's so few of those.. »
