Tekken 4
La presse a salué l'aspect d'« arguably the greatest arcade fighting game ever created » selon TotalGames.net, tandis que XenGamers relevait que « the biggest reason to pick up Tekken 4 is that the gameplay ».

« For twenty pounds you get arguably the greatest arcade fighting game ever created. That’s half the price of the forthcoming (and similarly but differently remarkable) "Soul Calibur 2." »
« Sure, the great graphics and sound and the bonus Tekken Force mode are all good selling points, but the biggest reason to pick up Tekken 4 is that the gameplay not only lives up to the fine presentation; it surpasses it. [Import] »
« The series could use a bit more depth and original features, but its pedigree as a top-ranked fighter remains intact. »
« This latest edition has not broken [my heart], although my hopes for what it should have been were slightly disappointed. [Oct 2002, p.78] »
« Mechanically superior and definitely oriented to the expert crowd, Namco's brand of four-limbed combat is comparable to just about anything out there. [Import review previously scored as a 94.] »
« A leaner, more vicious Tekken for a competitive age - surprising how much two new characters add to an already classy game. [Import, PSM2] »
« Not as groundbreaking as it should have been. It may be hard to admit, but "Virtua Fighter 4" has taken a giant leap compared to Tekken 4’s bunny hop. But now that Namco has hit the nail on the head when it comes to fighting depth and detail, it is time for change. »
« There is certainly no danger of Tekken fans, or fight-game fans in general being disappointed by the great, glossy, fast-paced brawler that Tekken 4 is. »
Avis des Joueurs (Metacritic)
« Tekken 4 is a better sequel to tekken 3. Tekken 5 is way better fighting game »
« For me, the best story in the series. Dark atmosphere. Great music. In terms of atmosphere, design, and story, it's the best. As for gameplay, I expected it to be better than it was, but this part offered many of the things that were the reason for the success of subsequent games. »
« "Tekken 4" is a solid sequel that holds up quite well. The fighting mechanics were overhauled and the graphics were improved. This PS2 port also includes "Tekken Force", a beat 'em up, and two fighters not featured in the arcade. It also has a Story and Practice modes not found in the previous games. "Tekken 4" isn't a huge improvement over "Tekken 3", but it's a worth entry in the series. I would rate it with an 8.2 out of 10. »
« A solid sequel, but it doesn't rank up with "Tekken 3" or "Tekken Tag Tournament". The fighting is faster-paced than in previous entries and feels influenced by the "Dead or Alive" games. This PS2 port includes a mini-beat 'em up mode entitled "Tekken Force". It also features two characters not in the original arcade version: Eddy and Miharu. The graphics are fantastic and the animation is smooth. While "Tekken 4" doesn't feel as innovative as past entries, it's a still a must have for fans. Overall, I would rate this with an 8.2 out of 10. »
« This ain’t a bad Tekken game,It’s a special one of course it has it’s weird systems. But The style is really appealing the story is very good and the characters have their own big story to tell too. The music slaps hard the stages are really nice and different overall stop **** about this one It’s not as bad as you think »
« jogo muito balanceado, a gameplay é muito boa, é com certeza o melhor tekken que já pisou na terra »
« Tekken 4 is a fighting game developed and published by Namco as the fourth main and fifth installment in the Tekken series. »
« Tekken gets the requisite extra characters and visual improvements - namely larger, more detailed characters and interactive environments - but it doesn't seem as "special" as the original games did. An added 3D scrolling version is also included, but it doesn't really work. Certainly a quality title, but it doesn't have that spark that made Soulcalibur II such a cut above the rest. »
