Star Wars: Empire at War
Star Wars: Empire at War

« Empire at War has everything. The graphics, sound, and overall presentation are each near perfect. Gameplay is fast-paced and fun, with very little repetition, and fans of the setting will be amazed with the attention to details. »
« A colossal game from the geniuses that brought us all "Command and Conquer." »
« Finally a Star Wars strategy game that got it right. Everything works the way it should, and that is no mean feat. »
« Not only is this a great game but like most Star Wars videogames, the production values are beyond reproach. The game looks fantastic. »
« Third time is the charm for LucasArts as they hit a grand slam with their new Star Wars real-time strategy game. »
« Who would have guessed that some of the most seasoned real-time strategy veterans on the planet would take one of the most well-worn licenses in gaming and turn it into one of the most inventive game in years? [May 2006, p.45] »
« If you're into AT-ATs stomping around battlefields, Darth Vader knocking over 20 soldiers with Force push, or space battles thick with dozens of fighters swarming in between gargantuan capital ships, Empire at War will deliver all that in a fun, compelling package. »
« The best Star Wars strategy ever, which, actually, is not much of a merit. Thanks to the strategic metagame and the good space battles, it is also a lot of fun. The ground battles are only so-so, but they are also short enough. Good job! [Mar 2006] »
Avis des Joueurs (Metacritic)
« Mit den Thrawns Revenge Mod und Fall of the Republic Mod ein muss für jeden Star Wars EU Fan »
« Reviewing All the games I play in 2026: Peak 2006, and its aged pretty damn well. Not like wine but also not like milk... Ground battles are pretty boring and the ui and ship controls are clunky, but Star Wars: RTS. Its truly carried by its modding community, and whenever Petroglyth wakes up to update their most sucessful ongoing game and then goes back to their big ahh nap. »
« I'm a big Star Wars fan and this game is an absolute masterpiece that definitely needs to be played. There are no games that I would rate higher. »
« One of the last great strategy games, Empire at War is pure Star Wars joy. The heroes, the ships, the sounds and music. You can lose yourself in it for days while conquering the galaxy. It also has one of the most loyal modding community, which created several HQ/Remake mods to keep it up-to-date with modern graphics, resolutions and gameplay options. »
« This game is the true Star Wars experience, conquering star systems and the galaxy by blowing their space fleet out of orbit before landing on the surface and wiping out enemies, pirates, and local populations alike. Extermination using classic Star War IP is perfect. The only thing that makes it better are mods that let you bring in more units, units from other Star Wars IP, other IPs in general (Star Trek anyone?) Playing 3rd person in God mode offers a great view of your many battles but they have this cinematic cam which is pretty cool to enter right as you send all your groups right into the enemy. The story itself is basically the same function and doesn't spend too much time talking. You get to use many classic characters, from Vader, to Luke, Han Solo, to Boba Fett, all in battle with their own special powers. »
« i never won at this game, i was quite bad at it despite the fact that it is easy. »
« with mods this is an easy 10/10 without it is still fun just not a good »
« Really fun strategic game. Very enjoying to go into starwars as a big picture commander, while being able to control ships too. »
