GamePro 90/100

« For the most part, though, Spyro is a graphics bonanza with blasts of color and eye-catching nuances, such as rippling water, glowing flames, and shimmering portals. »

TotalGames.net 73/100

« While there are a few tweaks, this is essentially the same game as the previous three. »

GameZone 70/100

« Looks good and sounds great, but Enter the Dragonfly lacks depth of play. It is a safe arcade-adventure outing. »

Media and Games Online Network 65/100

« The graphics are nothing to be proud of, as they seem very similar to what we were presented with on the PS one not too long ago, and nothing in terms of the gameplay or style has changed a bit or improved upon in any way shape or form. »

XGP Gaming 65/100

« All in all, the game felt more like a task I had to complete rather than something to be enjoyed. »

PSM Magazine 60/100

« Simply a decent been-there-done-that platformer. [Jan 2003, p.40] »

Cheat Code Central 60/100

« To get the most benefit from this game this should be your first Spyro game. To many diehard fans, it may be their last. »

Yahoo! 60/100

« Gameplay just hasn't changed enough. You feel like you're playing a throwback, or a golden oldie, not a new release. »

« This game is mediocre at best and that's me being kind to it. I wanted to give it a chance but the flaws are to glaring for me. The long loading times are ridiculous. The game also has poor controls and is notorious for game breaking glitches. The Spyro series peaked during the first PlayStation era and started declining around the time the PlayStation 2 released. The PlayStation 2 is an iconic console with lots of great games worth replaying, but this certainly isn't one of them. »

« Very buggy, makes you sometimes wonder if you lost a gem because you didn't look good or because of a bug (both happened to me), that is terrible if you want to 100% the game, not that I would raccomand it. But even outside glitches, it is a technical mess, bad graphics, bag animation, bad hit feedback, bad everything except the level design which is decent, stages are to large and not smarly connected as the trilogy, but they are still good stages. »

« This game was different to what I was expecting coming from the original trio and a Hero's tail. It still hits you with some nice nostalgia and fun moments. But it is very repetitive and not in a good way. The game itself runs very poorly, but compared to other reviewers I have only found a single bug so far and no crashes. (I am running on a late model PS2). Overall if you are a Spyro fan and just want more of what's already been done, then go for it. But if you are new to Spyro titles, please start with the original three or a Hero's Tail before touching this entry. »

« I really wanted to give Enter theDragonfly another chance. But I once again cannot bring myself to finish this game. The poor controls, bland characters and level design, and the performance of the game itself are so far beneath what you should expect from a Spyro game (both during Insomniac or post Insomniac games) that it’s insulting not only to fans of the series but to the game series itself. »

« Banned in many countries for unnecessary dragonfly intercourse spyro please don't enter the dragonfly took everything good with spyro and made sure no-one could play it on the playstayion 2. If the game was functional in any way shape or form this could actually be a half decent game. If the game was finished in any way shape or form this could actually be a half decent game. If chasing dragonflies with pathetic bubble breath was replaced with any other mechanic imaginable this could actually be a half decent game. But it's not. It's dreadful. Don't play it. »

BigManReviewer 7/10

« Fun platformer, don't know why everyone hates it, the frame rate is fine and everything else about it is pretty decent. »

« The Spyro Trilogy: Great games, fast and satisfying. Enter the Dragonfly: Mediocre, sluggish and frustrating. I really did not have fun playing this game, choppy framerates, poorly-designed levels, the characters look like they're made out of clay, and oh so many glitches. The only good thing is Stewart Copeland returning from the original trilogy, and the soundtrack is still as good as the trilogy, but the OST does not save this glitchfest trainwreck of this game. 3/10 »

« this game isn’t good, but it is a great time. it has an almost unbelievable amount of bugs and glitches. i can say with 100% certainty that the game will bug out every single time it is played, and in new and surprising ways. just when you think you’ve seen it all, it hits you with something unexpected. i’m not even going to spoil them because they’re the best part of the game. what’s even better is that none of them interfere with the gameplay; the awful framerate and poor optimization do more damage to that than anything else. the actual design of the game is hilariously bad, too. since there are only, like, ten levels, Check Six felt the need to cram hundreds of gems into each one. some levels have 900 gems, and collecting them is completely pointless because you only need to use them once. in the very first level. and there are big open spaces littered with nothing but gems and enemies. and most of the gems spawn upside down and completely static. amazing. seriously, the design is so confusing and the glitches so abundant that you’ll be faced with occurrences in which you’re unsure whether or not they were supposed to happen the way they did. spyro’s momentum is so wacky, and it leads to honestly the best ice physics i’ve ever experienced. it is legitimately fun to move spyro around on the ice, and i can’t say that about any other game. unfortunately, spyro enter the dragonfly doesn’t do much with it. the graphics are hairyass bad, but the aesthetic is pleasing enough and uses a lot of bright and eye catching colors without being overbearing. the framerate can make it hard to enjoy sometimes, though. the game also has some solid tracks. Stewart Copeland had a hand in the music, and it shows. some of the minigames are actually fun, and the game does do speedways pretty well, if a little unruly to control because of the speed combined with, once again, the terrible framerate. you can find this game super cheap now. grab some friends and a bong and just enjoy. as long as you don’t go in expecting a traditionally fun and functional gaming experience, you won’t be disappointed. »
