Spyro 2: Season of Flame
Spyro 2: Season of Flame
Description (IGDB)
Spyro 2: Season of Flame is the sequel to Spyro: Season of Ice. All the old characters from previous games are there, with Hunter and Bianca, and the player can also control Sheila the Kangaroo and Agent 9. Spyro has a few unusual abilities in this GBA game, including a fire/ice breath toggle. Some items can only be affected by one or the other. Unlike the PSX games, Spyro is presented primarily in an isometric view.
Histoire (IGDB)
The Rhynocs kidnapped the Dragon Realms' fireflies, which resulted in the dragons losing their ability to breathe fire. Spyro goes on a journey to rescue the fireflies.

Critiques de la Presse (Metacritic)
« It’s the closest thing to a vaguely taxing "Banjo Kazooie" -style adventure we might ever get. »
« The sound effects are brilliant and blend well with the cartoonish atmosphere of the game. »
« Colorful graphics combined with challenging gameplay. »
« A great game...The only things that slightly detract are the shortness of the overall game, and the sameness of many of the mini-games. »
« So much has changed...for the better. Improved, tighter controls, more tasks to complete, more variety in the level design, a longer quest, and a better use of the isometric perspective. »
« It looks better, it sounds better, it plays better, and it's ultimately more enjoyable than the original. »
« The controls are tight, the graphics are great and the gameplay is diverse and filled with mini-games. »
« Controlling Spyro hasn't improved. It’s still incredibly awkward trying to control him while gliding, as he'll go zooming off all over the place with the slightest touch. »
« This is the one of the closer and best Spyro game not made by Insomniac games. The gameplay is very lose and faithful to the original trilogy. My main issue is its depth perception. Jumping and gliding across platforms can be a **** »
« VU Games should just make GBA games of spyro then ds or home console games cause this game is amazing! Sure it has some flaws and not as memorable as the games on the ps1 but it is still great! »
« This is one of the hardest games I've ever played. Not because the difficulty level is too high, but because the mind-numbing boredom it gave me made me want to kill myself before I played more of it. There is absolutely no substance to this game whatsoever, with the game mostly based around the boring collection of gems and occasionally attacking easy to defeat enemies. While it has good graphics for a GBA game, these are cancelled out by the completely uninspired and forgettable soundtrack. Maybe diehard Spyro fans could enjoy this game, but I was sorely disappointed with it. If you're looking for a good platformer on the GBA, there are much better choices. »
« Much improved from the last GBA release (Season of Ice) not only in the stages themselves (all of them are fairly enjoyable as opposed to being hit or miss) but the flying has improved so the platforming isn't as hard. The graphics are also better and more colorful, the music is still nice and fitting to the area. The gameplay is still challenging and the controls are still intuitive (as they usually are). There's a lot of challenges that are take it or leave it to continue on so you can do as much as you feel.... but the deeper you go (I'm anal and have to 100% it like a freak) the more challenging the side quests become which I like despite the fact some of the side quests are taxing and repetitive.... (eg. chasing/catching leprechauns) »
