Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time, développé par Sanzaru Games et édité par Sony Computer Entertainment, est sorti le 5 février 2013 sur PlayStation 3 et PlayStation Vita. Quatrième opus principal de la série, ce jeu d'action et de plateforme mêle infiltration, défis de plates-formes et énigmes dans un univers en cel-shading fidèle à l'esprit de la saga. L'intrigue suit Sly et sa bande, rejointe par Bentley et Murray à l'ancienne planque, alors qu'ils utilisent la machine à voyager dans le temps intégrée au Cooper Van pour restaurer le Thievius Raccoonus dont les pages disparaissent, après que Penelope se soit volatilisée. Leur première destination est le Japon féodal, où un cambriolage de musée s'impose pour récupérer l'objet permettant le voyage temporel. La presse a salué le retour aux plates-formes d'époque, GamesRadar+ jugeant le titre abordable et rentable pour les fans des PS2, et Game Informer y voyant une bouffée d'air frais malgré un manque d'innovation, tandis que certains joueurs regrettent des choix scénaristiques discutables et des temps de chargement longs. Une partie principale demande environ treize heures, et le complet environ vingt-cinq heures et demie, pour une note agrégée de 79,01.

« Secondo me thives in time è bello sia a livello grafico che è sorprendete l'unica pecca la storia ma la musica fai davvero il suo la storia non convince chi sa quanto il gameplay mi piace molto e le ambientazioni mozzafiato sanzaru games ha fatto un buon lavore certo non è hai livelli del 2 e del 3 soprattutto pe ril finale Thives in time è un buonissimo platform proprio per la storia e il finale scusa per il termine fa schifo in sostanza è bello e divertentissimo se avete la opportunità giocateci »

« Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time is a wonderful start to Sly Cooper's newest trilogy that never was. It's really sad to see Sony not only not use Sly Cooper after this on the PS3, but the PS4 as well despite there being sequel bait at the end of this game. It really is interesting to see Sly interact with his ancestors and for each ancestor to have an interesting power that gets used during their world really helps set them apart for each other as well. The story is a big chase throughout time in order to stop the new antagonist, Le Paradox, and while this doesn't feel much different at first, there are plenty of plot twists to be had, and a great show down at the end that really seals the game's quality in a exciting way. Sly Cooper is also such a quality series that not only are the basic mechanics are back and in full force ala the style we are used to since the 2nd game, but character relationships are also continued in a satisfying way, the biggest being Carmelita and Sly's relationship. If you enjoyed previous entries to this series, this is certainly worth picking up and playing, but for those new to the series, I'd strongly suggest playing the other games first, least you spoil yourself. »
« Its some of the most fun and engaging level design in any platformer, the gameplay overall is way better than the first trilogy (which already was great), the only thing that falls kinda flat is the story and some of the characters. If you dont care as much about the story youre gonna love this game, if story is a big thing for you in the Sly games, this might not be for you. »
