Le titre propose de parcourir l'univers de Shrek à dos de montures dotées de leur propre personnalité, mêlant vitesse et combats à travers douze lieux inspirés des contes de fées. Le gameplay repose sur l'utilisation d'objets magiques pour rattraper son retard ou sur la possibilité de projeter ses adversaires hors de leur monture pour reprendre l'avantage.
Côté réception, le jeu obtient une note agrégée de 51,28. La presse spécialisée s'est montrée partagée : IGN a souligné une durée de vie courte et un mode multijoueur limité à du un-contre-un, tout en saluant le design des circuits et le cœur de gameplay. De son côté, PSM Magazine a jugé l'expérience aussi tiède que son postulat de départ usé. Les avis des joueurs sur Metacritic reflètent également une forte polarisation, oscillant entre des commentaires énigmatiques et une hostilité marquée.
