« Pokemon Ruby & Sapphire are a strong evolution of the series that really defined what the franchise would become going forward. Hoenn is one of the most memorable regions, with its mix of land and water routes, diverse environments, and a sense of adventure that feels bigger than the previous generations. The gameplay improvements at the time were huge. Abilities, natures, and double battles added more depth to team building, making battles feel more strategic compared to older games. Even today, the core mechanics still hold up surprisingly **** story is simple, but it works for what it’s trying to do. Team Aqua and Team Magma give the region some personality, even if they aren’t the most complex villains in the series. What really carries the game is the journey itself and the feeling of gradually exploring Hoenn. There are some issues, like slower pacing in certain parts and a lack of post-game content compared to later entries, but the overall experience is still very solid. »
« Gen 3 is the generation of Pokémon games with the most replayability in my opinion. It had great visuals and art direction, a compelling story, and it felt, and still feels, fresh with all the new mechanics it had (one of them has only been explored once in these past 20 years, and won't be fully explored again until Winds and Waves comes out). While Emerald was the perfect combination of the best elements of Ruby & Sapphire, and the remakes expanded on the original story as well, these two games are still really really good. »
« A strong central story with consistent and universal themes, a really great and varied expansion to the pokedex roster, interesting characters with their own motivations, and a lush and expansive region to explore. They say your favorite pokemon gen is your first, and this was mine. It has some gaps that later get plugged and improved on in emerald, but is still an excellent game »
« Hoenn is my favorite region and has some of my favorite pokemon designs of all time. This game does have it's flaws, like having way too many uber legendaries (they just made them too OP stat wise) and this snowballed into issues later on for many generations of titles. Lacks a lot of things from Emerald and is generally considered the inferior version. »
« Outdated graphics that are not playable nowadays. Play Alpha Sapphire instead. »
« With a bit of distance, it wasn't that great a game. Seriously lacks the new double battles. Experience was slow and it's pretty much impossible to fill the Pokedex. Also too much water. 7/10 »
« Ve a jugar Emerald, es lo mismo, pero con añadidos más interesantes #emerald4ever »
« The game offers the possibility of catching, trading or hatching all 386 Pokemon in the entire nation. Personally, until I knew that fact, I refused to play it. I am a lover of classic Pokemon. The Ruby and Sapphire games are compatible with FireRed, LeafGreen and Coliseum. The multiplayer features add a huge plus to the game by giving players the ability to connect a Game Boy Advance to a GameCube to partake in Coliseum. Unlike with Stadium I or II, you can gain experience on Coliseum. Of course, you do still have the option of linking to other Game Boy Advance systems. »
