Need for Speed: Shift
Need for Speed: Shift

« EA has turned a corner with their development of Need for Speed SHIFT. While it retains some elements of the traditional console game style, it also raises the bar for realism in a console-based racer. Budget for a steering wheel, though, to get fully benefit from the vastly better physics modeling. »
« If you're a number-munching automotive aficionado with a penchant for judging games the way an accountant judges a financial portfolio, know that this is a racing game dedicated to the act of racing rather than the actors, more intent on refining the experience of driving rather than celebrating car culture with scads of vehicles. »
« What EA has done here is reinvent a bloated franchise, and turned it into a product that the hardcore and the more casual among us can enjoy equally. »
« Need for Speed SHIFT managed to hook me to the point where I was looking forward to my next session with the game. Not all games can do that, and especially not all racing games, and that tells me that the designers did something right with this one. »
« Need for Speed: Shift is named well, as it marks a monumental shift in game design for the franchise. »
« The Need for Speed franchise has grown up. Dropping the street racing concept and moving to be a legit racing "simulation" was a good move. Not only did they name the game Shift, but I think they shifted into a new and exciting direction for the Need for Speed franchise. »
« Did we mention your speakers will enjoy every single bit of this game as well? »
« So what is there left to say except, if you call yourself a racing fan, even if you have passed on or hated the last few outings this Need for Speed series had to offer, this is a whole new game that feels fresh. To put it in simple terms, you "Need" this game in your racing library. »
Avis des Joueurs (Metacritic)
« At a time when Gran Turismo 5 had left me disappointed on launch and had me lose interest in racing games, "Need For Speed: Shift" gave me back the joy and excitement I once felt for "Gran Turismo 4". This game has a sense of speed and danger that is to this day unmatched in a circuit racer. The dual progression paths of precision and aggression makes the game eternally more rewarding than games that punisht you for aggressive overtakes. A great simcade racer, highly recommended. »
« With a great sense of speed, a mix of arcade and realistic gameplay, impressive graphics and and an awesome car collection, this fantastic entry in (maybe) EA’s most famous series doesn’t disappoint. Need For Speed Shift has almost everything a Need For Speed game needs. The only thing that this entry falls short on is an open-world. ThatMs right, there is no open world for Need For Speed Shift. However, it more than makes up for it with its wide array of tracks, setall around the world. While there’s no one huge area to explore, the game gives you plenty of races to do, cars to buy and money to spend. »
« Poor vehicle handling and annoying audio bugs keet this game from being great. Missing the real fun of an arcade racer, but lacks the refinement of a sim. Stuck between the two and held back from being a great racing game becauseof it. »
« Thankfully abandoning the sandbox environment full of homies and bros, NFS Shift is a return to straight track racing with unlockable challenges using a star system similar to the Burnout games and a series of side missions gauging your skills like the Kudos meter in Metropolis Street Racer. More rough and ready than Gran Turismo with lots more tire smoke and body contact and the aggressive AI controlled cars make the races feel properly competitive. It takes a while to set up the handling and difficulty correctly but once you've got it the way you like it, it's a fast, exciting and challenging racer that's up there with the best of them. »
« The races are really fun, however that's only a third of the game, with the rest being drifting and time trials which ****. »
« I don't understand the hate for this game. I had a great time playing it. It was fun! I loved the simulation and I thought it was fun and found myself driving for hours. »
