NBA 2K22, développé par Visual Concepts et édité par 2K, est sorti le 9 septembre 2021 sur PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One et Xbox Series X|S. Ce jeu de simulation sportive propose de jouer dans des environnements authentiques de la NBA et de la WNBA contre des équipes et joueurs réels, de constituer une équipe de rêve dans le mode MyTEAM avec des stars actuelles et des légendes, de vivre une carrière individuelle dans Ma CARRIÈRE et d'incarner un manager dans Mon MG et Ma LIGUE. La version PC introduit un nouveau Quartier conçu pour ce support, tandis que le titre met en avant de nouvelles tactiques offensives et défensives ainsi que de puissants contres. L'Édition 75e anniversaire inclut notamment 100 000 VC, des packs MyTEAM et divers éléments numériques pour Mon JOUEUR. Il est à noter que l'ensemble des serveurs multijoueurs du jeu ont été coupés le 31 décembre 2023, rendant indisponibles les fonctionnalités en ligne.
L'accueil critique s'est révélé globalement favorable, avec un score OpenCritic de 76 et une note agrégée de 71,51. La presse a salué un titre parmi les meilleurs du genre, avec une production irréprochable et une immersion accrue, tandis que certains joueurs ont particulièrement apprécié le mode Ma CARRIÈRE. En revanche, des joueurs sur Steam ont exprimé des regrets quant à l'absence de la version Next-Gen sur PC, évoquant un manque de différenciation avec les opus précédents, ainsi que des problèmes visuels et techniques persistants.

« If you're a franchise player, this is a game for you. Play offline, be happy. It's been almost the same offline for years. If you play online, don't irritate yourself with this game. The reason I gave it a 6 because underneath all the showoff, there's a good basketball game. Update: After playing the game on HOF difficulty multiple times with 12 minute quarters. It's not even better offline. If you're good at the game and wants to play a simulation style basketball game, it's not worth it. If you're new at the game and wants to play offline, maybe. »
« Game is still full of micros transactions, they purposely make the game really grindey and would takes countless hours to get your player to a high overall so you buy VC so their pockets are filled up even more. I miss the days when just buying a game would be enough. »
