Sur le plan de l'accueil critique, ZTGD a salué la conception des combats pour la version Wii en déclarant : « The simplistic combat lends itself well to the Wii remote and the special attacks really liven up the otherwise dull back and forth battles. » Nintendo Power a pour sa part partagé son sentiment à travers cette citation : « Just as the Legend of the Dragon TV series comes off as a faint echo of "Dragon Ball Z", The Game Factory's Wii adaptation serves as a reminder that it takes m… ».

Critiques de la Presse (Metacritic)

ZTGD 60/100

« The simplistic combat lends itself well to the Wii remote and the special attacks really liven up the otherwise dull back and forth battles. »

Nintendo Power 55/100

« Just as the Legend of the Dragon TV series comes off as a faint echo of "Dragon Ball Z", The Game Factory's Wii adaptation serves as a reminder that it takes more than two battlers and an arena to make a memorable fighting game. [Aug 2007, p.84] »

AceGamez 50/100

« If the developers had made more use of the Wii's unique controllers and cranked up the graphics, I could have given this a better score. But, like ordering a Mixed Vegetable Soup at my local Chinese takeaway, I'm going to have to give Legend of the Dragon a number five. »

Gaming Nexus 45/100

« Although it runs at a budget price, I can’t recommend a purchase, even for fans of the show. A quick rent might suffice, but this game won’t keep you entertained very long. »

Deeko 40/100

« Legend of the Dragon is one of the few Game Factory titles I've ever looked at with pure disdain. The truth of the matter is that its $39.99 price tag has almost no justification, as the game has very little in actual substance. »

G4 TV 40/100

« Someday, the Wii may host its own quality 3D fighter. If it does, though, it’ll be something like Super Smash Brothers Brawl – something built from the ground up for this console. Otherwise, maybe you just can’t teach a new dog old tricks. »

IGN 38/100

« Sure there’s multiplayer and a few different modes, but when it all hinges on a basic, one-dimensional fighting engine it really doesn’t matter. Each fighter feels nearly identical, uses the same three super attacks, and there’s no real depth to the experience to add on top of that. »

Nintendo Gamer 33/100

« This strives for nothing and doesn't even make it that far. A poor game for a poor franchise. [JPN Import; Aug 2007, p.54] »
