Harvest Moon: The Winds of Anthos, développé et publié par Natsume Inc. avec le concours de Numskull Games, est sorti le 26 septembre 2023 sur PC, PlayStation 4 et 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One et Xbox Series X|S. Célébrant le 25e anniversaire de la franchise, ce titre mêle aventure, simulation et rôle dans un monde nommé Anthos, où la Déesse de la Moisson et les Lutins de la Moisson veillaient sur les habitants jusqu'à une éruption volcanique survenue vingt ans plus tôt, qui a isolé les villages et contraint la déesse à un sommeil profond après avoir envoyé une bouteille contenant une lettre et une clé magique. Dix ans après la découverte de ce message, le joueur doit raviver la déesse, reconnecter les villages et explorer Anthos à pied ou à cheval, en cultivant avec la ferme mobile de Doc Jr., en élevant des animaux, en participant à des festivals ou en courtisant cinq célibataires, le tout sous le moteur Unity pour un prix de 48,99 euros. La presse a salué un retour aux fondamentaux de la série et une approche en monde ouvert immersive, tandis que certains joueurs ont trouvé l'expérience addictive et réussie, même si un avis négatif sur Steam indique ne pas recommander le jeu. L'ensemble affiche une note agrégée de 79 et une durée de 42 heures pour l'histoire principale, prolongée à 150 heures pour un parcours complet.

With its focus on exploration and a huge world to traverse, tons of items to find, and a variety of animals to nurture as well as solid farming, mining, and fishing; there's a lot of fun to be had with this instalment. »

« You most likely know that Harvest Moon has been pants for a while now, and Story of Seasons hasn't been much better. For those of us who've been burned before by Natsume's underbaked offerings, we weren't expecting greatness from Winds of Anthos. But for once, this newest game is a step in the right direction, establishing Natsume's voice at last in a crowded market. Here's hoping the next Harvest Moon goes even harder. »

« Very good farming game. They did a good job introducing an open world to the genre. It's very addictive. To me this game is better than any Story of Seasons or Rune Factory games, even the latest Grand Bazaar (I bought it day 1 and I'm a little disappointed, because I was so excited for it), with the Winds of Anthos I bought it recently and I can't stop playing it. What a beautiful game it is! Minus 1 point for the frame drops from time to time, could be better, but the game is still playable 100%. I love this game! »

« Finally a good Harvest moon, still no where near as addictive as the Stories series and definently not as grear as the new Rune Factory, but they experimented and btought farming sims to open world and they did it well, thats respectable. »
