Green Day: Rock Band, développé par Demiurge Studios et Harmonix Music Systems et publié par MTV Games, est sorti le 8 juin 2010 sur PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 et Wii. Ce jeu de musique, cinquième grande sortie console de la série Rock Band, permet aux joueurs de simuler l'interprétation de rock à l'aide de contrôleurs en forme d'instruments. La liste de morceaux est composée des chansons du groupe punk américain Green Day, dont les trois membres sont représentés virtuellement dans de nouvelles salles de concert conçues pour l'occasion. Le titre intègre d'anciens titres du groupe parus en contenu téléchargeable et autorise l'export de sa playlist complète vers les autres jeux Rock Band, à l'exception de The Beatles: Rock Band. La durée principale est estimée à sept heures et le temps pour tout accomplir à cinquante heures, pour une note agrégée de 71,84.
L'accueil critique a été mitigé mais globalement favorable. Extreme Gamer a jugé l'ouvrage « un succès, même si [il ne le placerait] pas au même niveau que l'édition Beatles ». GamePro a regretté la tendance vers des titres récents au détriment de plus anciens, évoquant une déception, tandis que des joueurs sur Metacritic ont salué un jeu « vraiment génial et amusant » mais déploré l'absence de morceaux d'avant Dookie et de certaines périodes comme Insomniac, Nimrod ou Warning.
