Fighting Vipers
Fighting Vipers
Description (IGDB)
Fighting Vipers is a 3D fighting video game created by Sega AM2. While it shares the game engine with AM2's Virtua Fighter 2, it distinguishes itself with enclosed arenas and an armour mechanic. The game is primarily designed for Western audiences, incorporating a U.S. setting and embracing more freeform styles of martial arts.
Histoire (IGDB)
Hyper-adrenal combatants in full-body armour, battling night and day in back-alley rings - only such young gurba warriors have earned the right to be called Vipers... Now in Armstone City, the mayor has formally announced a fighting tournament on a grand scale, with the final bout to be held atop the staggering City Tower in the centre of town. With City Tower as their ultimate goal, eight young Vipers start down the path to victory, a path which only one will see the end...

« In the end, the fun, fast gameplay and incredibly cheap $5/400 MSP price makes this a must have. Don't even try the demo here, just download it, you will not regret it. »
« A vision of retro loveliness. [March 2013, p.85] »
« Vipers is still a lot of fun, but you won't dump newer 3D fighters for it. »
« Pretty much good for local multiplayer only. [Feb 2013, p.85] »
« Can only be recommended for fighting game addicts or Achievement hunters. [Issue#94, p.84] »
« I always wanted to get this and I have to say the price was good and if you liked Virtual Fighter 2 you will also dig Fighting Vipers as well. It also reminds you of the good games Saturn could put out when they actually tried!!! »
« While Virtua Fighter 2 was the fighter with the most precision gameplay, not to mention the game with more depth than any other console fighter(Vitua' & Fighting vipers were originaly SATURN games) of the late 90s era.Fighting Vipers has the same gameplay mechanic as the superlative Fighter Megamix, which was an amazing mash-up of VF2 & FVs with other SEGA mascots in there for good measure, but back to FV,well to be honest I was really pleased & surprised how well this game holds up to modern fighters,of course the graphics are of there time but they still look really nice & the gameplay is classic SEGA arcade style brilliance.I highly recomend this & Virtua Fighter 2 which was released on x.b.l.a on the same day as 'Vipers. »
