Dragon Booster
Dragon Booster est un jeu de course publié par Konami le 8 décembre 2005 sur Nintendo DS. Inspiré de la série animée diffusée sur ABC Family et Toon Disney, il se présente comme un titre d’action et de course à la troisième personne situé dans un monde fantastique où humains et dragons coexistent.
L’intrigue met en scène Artha Penn, un adolescent ordinaire de 16 ans, que Beau, un dragon légendaire, choisit pour devenir le héros mythique du Dragon Booster lorsque la paix de leur monde est bouleversée. Sur le thème classique de la confrontation entre le bien et le mal, le jeune homme doit mobiliser ses nouvelles capacités afin de vaincre ses ennemis et réunir définitivement les deux espèces.
Du côté de l’accueil critique, la presse a formulé des réserves en présentant ces avis comme des opinions. Le magazine Nintendo Power a ainsi estimé dans son numéro de février 2006 qu’« If so much of the game weren't based solely on the touch screen, Konami might have had a winner ». De son côté, Console Gameworld a regretté que « Despite a cool concept, the unusable controls and other flaws prevent Dragon Booster from making the cut ». Un joueur s’exprimant sur Metacritic a également partagé son sentiment en citant : « In a sneak peek of my cousin DS library , the curiosity to play a flawed Tv show pulled me to see how it worked. After a few minutes , I found it wasn't that g… », sans toutefois aller au-delà de cette impression tronquée.
