DK Bongo Blast
DK Bongo Blast, un jeu de course développé par Paon et Nintendo, a été publié par Nintendo sur Nintendo GameCube le 28 juin 2007. D'après le résumé fourni, il s'agissait à l'origine d'un jeu de course mettant en scène Donkey Kong et destiné à utiliser les DK Bongos, avant d'être remanié pour la Wii sous l'appellation Donkey Kong Barrel Blast, les contrôles de bongos étant alors remplacés par des contrôles de mouvement.
Le temps de completion indiqué pour l'histoire principale est de 2 heures, tandis qu'une approche complétiste est estimée à 7 heures et demie.
L'accueil critique et des joueurs, tel que rapporté par des citations recueillies, reflète des opinions variées sans constituer des faits sur le jeu lui-même. La Official Nintendo Magazine UK a ainsi exprimé un avis sévère en écrivant : « The on-rails steering mechanic will be an insult to your gaming ability. [Apr 2008, p.79] ». De son côté, Nintendo Power a relevé certains efforts visuels en notant : « To Barrel Blast's credit, it looks like there was a concerted effort to make the game look better--a smooth frame rate and some nice effects spruce up an other… ». Sur Metacritic, des joueurs ont partagé des commentaires divers, l'un affirmant « This game got me laid », un autre exprimant le souhait « I hope you have really good swinging motion on this game because it takes a lot of Up and Down Swinging animation to move left and right because it looks hard … ».

« when my mother was pregnant, she wanted to get rid of fetus me (i was a bad fetus) so she bought a copy of barrel blast, hoping it had similar effect to smoking 6 packs a day. but with that first swing of her arm, she was invested. no sleep, no eating, she just sat there peeing herself playing donkey kong. she wanted me to join in on the fun, so she swallowed a wii remote whole. we played for hours. then, eventually i was born, and she named me after the best character. she died due to pregnancy complications or plastic ingestion or cancer or something. 100/10 changed my whole damn life... and if there is any kalypsos who want a kludge like me hmu »
