Contradiction

« Play Contradiction - Spot The Liar! and you will re-evaluate the full motion video adventures sub-genre. »
« It is a unique mismatch of ideas, and that is what makes it so uniquely appealing, and very much worth giving a go. »
« Very quick after Her Story, Contradication is another great FMV-game. It follows the standard whodunit formula, but because of the convincing acting, a likeable key character and hours of detective gameplay, this is one of the best in the genre. »
« A decent murder mystery game that suffers heavily from poor controls and menus. »
Avis des Joueurs (Metacritic)
« good story, good movie, good acting, good puzzle.. all is good and worth to pllay.. »
« A very interesting deduction game, with good acting and an fascinating plot full of red herrings and -yes- contradictions and lies. With a bit more character development, or some background or personal info of the Inspector, it would have been an easy 9/10. »
« This is absolutely amazing experimental game! Hopefully, there will be a sequel! 12hrs on record. »
« Honestly why it is highly rated is beyond me. The controls are awful. There is no tutorial. you just have to find out stuff along the way. Which could have been fine had it been straight forward, but it isn't. Not just that, but it is poorly acted, buggy, poorly made and there are grammar and spelling errors. Whether the story is good or not I can't tell as it was impossible for me to get through the first few minutes »
« Very interesting game between videogame and film. I enjoyed a lot trying to guess the contraditions. I'm looking forward to new games like this because it has an open ending »
« For what it is: A low-budget fmv adventure game taking place in a small town in England, it is an absolutely remarkable game! Took me 12 hours to beat (no cheats). Great gameplay, appearance, soundtrack, acting. 100% recommend it if you like detective cases. »
« Very nice adventure. Let's start saying that the acting is really, really good. I absolutely love the over-the-top acting of the main character. He's fantastic. I want more of Detective Jenks. Hope he's gonna be the new Tex Murphy. The interface is clearly designed for tablets and gamepads, and while I'm usually very annoyed by this (not using the full potential of a PC and mouse+keyboard combination), in this case I'm not too annoyed by it because it's pretty well designed and very readable, even if there are some weird and awkward control choices here and there, but nothing major. It also has a certain "old style game" quality that I like. The map is really nice, very well thought, extremely well designed and very useful. Puzzles are good for the most part, but sometimes I felt too guided by an invisible hand: for example, I noticed right at the beginning a very important detail but the game didn't let me do anything about it until the very end. It's also a bit frustrating that you can't disprove a person's statement with another person's statement. But the game would have become way too complex. Directing is also very good, I liked the camera use, the framing and the shots. It's not long, but it's of the right lenght. Any more, and it would have been too convoluted and would have become stale. The ending part (let's say, last two hours) is quite a letdown though. Not only the case resolution feels a bit forced and unsatisfactory, but the scene in the woods feels really out of place, very badly thought, the characters behave absolutely irrationally, doesn't add anything to the story and the game would have been better if it had been cut. Let's hope for a sequel, there are still a lot of unanswered questions. »
« More of this please :) So many years after a decent FMV adventure finally this came by. This is not as mysterious as Gabriel Knight of Tex Murphy but certainly is atmospheric and much more interesting than the TV series . Highly recommended! »
