Commandos 2: Men of Courage, développé par Pyro Studios et Zonic Limited et édité par Feral Interactive et Eidos Interactive, est sorti le 20 septembre 2001 sur PC, PlayStation 2, Xbox et Mac. Ce jeu d'action et de stratégie tactique en temps réel, mêlant aventure et tir, plonge le joueur dans la Seconde Guerre mondiale aux commandes d'un groupe d'élite dirigé par le sergent Jack « Butcher » O'Hara, chargé de pénétrer en territoire ennemi à travers des environnements inspirés de lieux authentiques comme le cœur du Troisième Reich ou une installation sous-marine d'Europe du Nord. Le titre propose neuf commandos contrôlables, un nouveau moteur 3D permettant de faire pivoter les décors de 360 degrés, ainsi que dix missions sur neuf environnements distincts, de jour comme de nuit, avec un mode coopératif sur PC. La presse a salué un jeu d'action complexe au gameplay intense, tandis que certains joueurs ont regretté que le troisième opus de la série ait été un échec, d'autres exprimant leur plaisir à y rejouer en français sur écran large. Le score Metacritic s'élève à 87 pour une note agrégée de 87,25, et la durée principale est estimée à environ vingt et une heures et demie, contre trente-trois heures et demie pour un parcours complet. Le jeu est proposé au prix de 4,99 euros avec la protection DRM SafeDisc 2.
