Cars Race-O-Rama, édité par THQ et développé par Tantalus Interactive et Incinerator Studios, est sorti le 12 octobre 2009 sur PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable et Wii. Ce jeu de course met en scène Lightning McQueen et son académie de pilotes étudiants affrontant ceux de Chick Hicks, peu fair-play, à travers des circuits variés allant des plages aux villes et au désert de Baja, avec personnalisation et amélioration des véhicules jusqu'à une finale opposant un Lightning McQueen et un Chick Hicks totalement modifiés pour le trophée Race-O-Rama. La note agrégée du titre s'élève à 56,27 et sa durée de jeu est estimée à environ cinq heures pour l'histoire principale et huit heures pour un parcours complet. La presse a salué un effort correct destiné à divertir les enfants et les fans du film, Cheat Code Central précisant qu'il ne s'agit pas du jeu de course de l'année mais qu'il occupera les fans jusqu'à Cars 2, tandis que Totally360 relève qu'il ne retiendra pas un joueur exigeant. Certains joueurs sur Metacritic apprécient les nouveaux personnages et l'histoire tout en regrettant des physiques perfectibles en conduite sur terre, et l'un d'eux qualifie le titre de meilleur jeu de course jamais réalisé.
