As part of the PC crowd, I'm pretty resigned to the fact that, even if its initial November release date sticks, we won't be getting GTA 6 over here in 2026. Rockstar Games will want to let its console version sit for a while, whether that's to ensure the PC version is as polished as possible, or simply to entice you to shell out for a PS5 or Xbox copy knowing that you'll probably buy it again when it comes to the Steam shores. In a world where Rockstar Games can more than comfortably get by on just GTA and Red Dead Redemption, some of its more maverick but no less beloved series have been put on extended hiatus. Bully is a prime example, but a recent mod project to turn it into a GTA Online-style experience really breathed new life into it. However, just a few weeks after it went live, Bully Online was swiftly shut down, with no reason given - however, a cease and desist from Rockstar or parent company Take-Two always felt like the most likely outcome. YouTuber 'Swegta', the project's lead, has now posted a video explaining that a "legal threat" was the reason why Bully Online closed, and confirms that the team behind it, Fat Pigeon Development, will no longer pursue the project. While it's not explicitly said who this threat came from, Swegta says that you can "take two guesses as to who is behind this." Read the rest of the story... 20 years on, Bully is still very much a cult hit. It's relatively understated by Rockstar Games' standards; it's a far more concise experience compared to its other sprawling open-world games, but it's no less excellent. « A friend of mine advised me to play this game and, oh boy, I did not at all expect how GOOD it was going to be. A classic Rockstar experience which perfectly captured the wackiness of my childhood/teenhood with its absurd story while perfectly balancing it with a fun gameplay. I also absolutely love the amount of detail put into the characters, each random dialogue or location hides many secrets that push the viewer to fully understand the complexity of the world (I'm sure I'm still missing something from it, aha.). My only criticism is that there was a point in the game (the final chapter) which clearly got rushed in production. Besides that, I'm not exaggerating when I say I've experienced it now on different platforms (the original PS2 remains the best one, of course), for how much fun it is. Truly, I'm glad my friend advised me on this one! »
