Blazing Chrome
Blazing Chrome

« Blazing Chrome is a great throwback to games such as Contra; simple run-and-guns with swarms of enemies, awesome boss fights, special weapons, and a great soundtrack to go with it. With fluid controls, multiple difficulties, and a stage select so you can pick which stage to tackle in any order, Blazing Chrome is definitely worth picking up if you’re into Contra-style games. »
« With Blazing Chrome you kind of get what you get: it's an hour and change shooter that pays extreme homage to the Contra series. »
« Blazing Chrome absolutely nails the game and feel of school run & gun games like Contra and Metal Slug. If you like this genre, it’s a game you cannot miss. »
« I loved my time with this game and it being offered on Game Pass for Xbox owners only sweetens the deal. Even still Switch and PS4 owners should not hesitate. For $20 this is one nostalgia trip worth taking, even for those that didn’t necessarily grow up with the games it attempts to mimic. A good game is still a good game regardless of generation. »
« A brilliant modern retro game, bringing back Contra´s legacy with grace and skill. Although it adheres to the well-known formula maybe too much, this game is a must for any retro-oriented gamer out there no matter the challenge required. »
« Packing retro aesthetics and just the right amount of challenge, Blazing Chrome is the best run-and-gun in years. Though it is a bit on the short side, it perfectly encapsulates the pure kinetic energy that put the genre on the map. »
« Blazing Chrome is a top-of-the-line appetizer to what could be a masterpiece of a five-course meal. »
« Blazing Chrome doesn't try to be anything more than a classic run-and-gun and thus easily exceeds expectations, although the length does leave something to be desired. »
Avis des Joueurs (Metacritic)
« Blazing Chrome is the best Contra game since **** Soldier. It might not be an official installment, but it's more of a Contra game than Rogue Corp. Unfortunately, Konami forgot what made the series great. Instead, they made a Borderlands/Diablo twin-stick shooter. However, "Chrome" makes up for that mistake. This feels like a mash up of Alien Wars and Hard Corp. It's a tough-as-nails retro throwback, but is a lot of fun. I'd rate it with an 8 out of 10. »
« Excellent game truly bring Contra vibes.. love the graphics.. the game is super hard but a blast to play coop. Ive been playing it on share play with my buddy... frustrating yet super addictive.. you dont wanna give up.. its that good. »
« Unforgiving difficulty from start to finish. The problem is that the difficulty is not even fair, and the curve is so quick that the 1° stage will be semi hard and the 2° suddenly will be insanely hard, long and unfair. This is hardest than any Contra game ever made, and that says a lot. From start to finish, your poor character will be oblitarated with no mercy. No matter how good you were in previous run n gun games, you will be destroyed until you learn every single enemy patter of the stage. The game will throw at you a huge ammount of fast enemies and many, many unavoidable bullets. Unless your reflexes are top notch, you will die a lot to the point that it will become too frustrating, and that's if you are a hardcore gamer, cause if you are a casual, say goodbye to your sanity or put it on easy. Despite the crazy difficulty, I found the art design to be just wonderful and the controls are responsive (almost all the time). The problem is that the game will give you no mercy and not even a health bar, so you will die with 1 single shot. There's no way to beat the 2° stage without loosing lives on normal without cheating. Oddly enough, the 3° stage is not even half as hard as the 2° one. Believe me, if you are not hardcore enough you will suffer a lot, unless you don't care about loosing lives (that would be what a casual does) but a hardcore gamer always care for every single life lost. I still love the game, this is what the hardcore gaming community needed, a fresh new Contra styled experience, I wish I could give this a 9/10, but the difficulty is way too high 8/10 »
« After the abysmal Contra: Rogue Corps, I decided to try this as it looked similar to the Contra I love and grew up with, but man, I was not expecting it to be this good. The game has been made by people who clearly know what they are doing in terms of Contra style games (which this game is inspired by), and I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for another Contra style game. »
« Yes Konami really should have just stuck with their roots for their new Contra game, but thankfully Blazing Chrome was there to fill that Contra sized hole in the gaming heart without Konami. The only thing missing is the the aim-locked strafing controls like they had in Contra : **** Soldier and Hard Corps : Uprising. (That function was a much needed and appreciated evolution to the run and gun genre) Almost a perfect tribute to everyone's favorite Run and Gun »
« This is a great throw back to the 16 bit era. As someone whole played the old contra games extensively, I can say this game holds up well. »
« Perfect contra but more beatiful. Incredible playing and graphics. More more more »
« A grand, fun and yet unforgiving sider-scrolling shooter. This is the type of game we wanted Konami to make for YEARS. Finally, a team of contra fans and old school shooters out there band together to create a TRUE spiritual sequel to the Contra franchise. Six missions of balls to the wall action, music and design. A must have for nostalgic shooter fans of the SNES era. »
