Aliens vs. Predator, développé par Rebellion Developments et édité par Sega, est sorti le 16 février 2010 sur PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 et PC (Microsoft Windows). Ce jeu de tir utilise le moteur Asura et propose trois campagnes solo uniques ainsi que d'innombrables heures de jeux multijoueur de trois façons différentes. L'expérience à la première personne plonge le joueur dans la jungle et des marécages mortels autour de la colonie de Freya Prospect, où il doit survivre et chasser. En incarnant le Marine, on vit une expérience claustrophobique et terrifiante où la lumière est une alliée rare, bien que le Corps des Marines des États-Unis soit armé des dernières armes explosives et automatiques. Le Predator se cache dans l'ombre pour tendre des embuscades depuis les cimes des arbres avec un arsenal exotique, devant prendre ses trophées face à face par honneur. L'Alien, espèce la plus mortelle, offre d'incarner l'essence des cauchemars, un monstre dans le noir avant l'essaimage doté de mâchoires telles un piège et de griffes comme des lames d'acier. Les modes en ligne opposent ces trois factions dans une réinvention du multijoueur.
Le titre affiche un temps de completion principal d'environ 8 heures et 24 heures pour un profil completionniste, pour un prix de 3,74 EUR. Il obtient un score Metacritic de 68 et une note agrégée de 69,29.
Concernant l'accueil, la presse a salué le jeu, comme l'a fait IGN UK en déclarant qu'il s'agit d'« A game that's going to stoke the hearts of anyone who ever fell in love with the original films – which is likely anyone who's ever picked up a game pad. », ou AtomicGamer notant que « For the fans that AvP was very obviously made for, however, the high production values, attention to the universe’s detail and generally smooth gameplay make i… ». Certains joueurs sur Metacritic le qualifient de « A timeless classic that needs a remaster... » ou estiment « It's already a 10 just for the Predator campaign. « 66/100 as big fan of the movies/franchise, and reccomended on that basis. At the start when you are familiarising yourself with whats to come the atmosphere is tense, and the familiar sounds of the weapons, gadgets and space beasts are gonna put you as close to being in your favorite nightmare movie as possible, and there are some sweet touches that fans will love. Purely regarding gameplay I would drop this to maybe 56/100. Still fun to be had but lacks some depth and feels a bit clunky and rushed sometimes. A decent game in it's own right but due to the amount of seriously impressive games that exist out there it leaves you feeling a bit flat and never with that burn to get back to the game for more, despite the tasty flamethrower. »
« first thing first, was always absolutely terrified to play as the soldire XD, playing as the predator was awsome with the shoulder cannon and the claws that extend from the forearms, that was dope, and with the alien side of it, i absolutely loved how i could crawl accross the ceiling and spear the soldiers with the tail, that was a cool detail. and the invis camo with them both was dope »
