Yoshi's Island DS

« It’s improved in every way but still retains all of the elements that made the original an instant classic. »
« Much better than most other games on the DS. In particular it puts New Super Mario Bros to shame. »
« Yoshi's Island DS is a terrific platformer that's every bit as fun and charming as its predecessor. »
« Twists, such as the ability to play with different attributes thanks to Baby Mario, Baby Princess Peach, Baby DK, and more add variety to an extremely fun adventure. Through 40-plus levels, vibrant graphics and lively environments make things feel fresh and unique. »
« Yoshi's crayon-sketched world is a lot like the original game on the Super Nintendo, its bright and creative spirit alive and flourishing in this most successful sequel. [Dec. 2006, p.89] »
« In a time when 2D platformers seem to be fading into gaming history, for fans of the SNES it's downright heartwarming to see a sequel that is true to the classic. »
« This game is a testament that a game doesn't have to become three dimensional to be successful. If you don't like this game within the first ten minutes of play, then maybe you are the real baby. »
« Not only is Yoshi's Island DS huge, cute, innovative and beautifully presented, its layering of light platforming skills and hardcore item collection mean it's ideal for all abilities. »
Avis des Joueurs (Metacritic)
« Yoshi’s island DS is a tail of two difficulties, the first four worlds are almost painfully easy and the finally word takes the difficulty up by many levels. The graphics are lovely for era and don’t try to do too much to look unique. The gameplay is not too floaty (even for a Yoshi game) and the multi baby system makes for a number of puzzles that can be solved in different ways letting you play the way you wish. The final boss fight was not particularly impressive but felt adequate for the game and the era. My biggest issue with the game is a significant difficulty spike, for whatever reason there were multi levels in the late game that took me many times to get through. »
« I played it on SNES emulator, at the time it was one of the best game ever made, and it's still great today. »
« I really enjoyed the first Yoshi's Island but wow this has been a disappointing playthrough. Levels are way too long with a gimmick that had the right idea but simply isn't fun. Level design itself just reeks at times. I'd recommend skipping this one. If you need another Yoshi game give Woolly World a shot. »
« Yoshi's Island DS certainly had a lot of potential with the mechanic of new baby powers, but instead riddled it with tedious puzzles, levels, and controls. The ascetics are just as unrealized, and while as a whole the game isn't bad, it certainly doesn't level up to the original Yoshi's island or it's platforming status. »
« Yoshi´s Island Ds is a very fun game, with too much forms to complete the game, variety and more speed, the only problems were some music tracks are a bit off and the last 2 levels of world 4 & the entire of world 5 have the feeling to be rushed, because the difficulty increased very high there »
« Now just because I gave this a 6/10, doesn't mean it's a bad game. I just think that it's very overrated. I'm not going to be rating this specific edition of Yoshi's Island, but just the game as a whole. I don't think Yoshi's Island's long level design fits the game. It fits something like Donkey Kong Country, but not this game. I felt just trying to rush through the game, and nothing really stood out to me. I guess the thing that really stands out are the bosses. The bosses in this game were all really well designed and fun. Especially the final boss. Overall it's a good platformer, but really forgettable, and boring at points. I give it a 6/10, and a C. »
« A challenging and endearing platformer with strong music. Decent replayability. »
