Description (IGDB)

What The Dub?! is a multiplayer party game where each player overdubs missing dialogue from hilariously awful B-movies, outdated PSAs, and bizarre industrial films, with their own witty (or just plain stupid) dubs! Players watch the dubs and vote on the best one. The player with the highest score at the end of the game wins! What The Dub takes "bad movie night" and expands it into an interactive, fast-paced, multiplayer game that friends and family, both local and afar, can enjoy!

Remote Play - Quick Start

In What the Dub?! players use any browser enabled device to enter text and vote. However, when playing with remote players, they'll need a way to see the host's screen in order to view the video clips. Luckily, playing on PC/Mac is fairly simple. We recommend these two methods.

Zoom

  • Download Zoom
  • Open Zoom and start a new meeting.
  • Invite players to your meeting.
  • Click Share Screen.
  • Select your desktop and make sure "Share Sound" and "Optimize for Video Clip" (in the lower left corner) are selected.
  • Open What The Dub?! and start a game!

Pure Playstation 95/100

« What The Dub?! is the best party game I’ve ever played – simple as that. Its core concept is super simple and the execution is easy. The hard part? Being funny enough to make it worth playing, but that’s on you. »

PlayStation LifeStyle 90/100

« What The Dub?! is the perfect blend of party games and bad movie nights. It’s a relatively simple idea with endless hilarity unlocked by each group of people that plays it. Wide Right Interactive has mined the depths of places no human should ever go to bring you some of the best prompts and most awkward footage to ever be recorded to film. By sticking to the established party game formula, it’s easy for anyone to pick up and play, whether they’re a gamer or not. Whether your a party game fanatic, or just venturing forth into the world of what party games can offer, What The Dub?! is an essential addition to any party games collection. »

Digital Chumps 80/100

« What the Dub? is a good party game. Playing with friends and family to dub over B-Movie film clips is short stints of amusement that you can come back to when you tire of the Jack Box experience. It’s cheap enough to justify and funny enough to enjoy. »

Video Chums 80/100

« Party games don't get much simpler than What The Dub?! yet its hilarious moments make it a must-have for those who love to laugh. »

Finger Guns 70/100

« What The Dub?! takes a simple and enjoyable concept and builds a whole party game from it. There’s no deviation from the premise, for better and and for worse, and the game doesn’t leave a lot of breathing room between rounds. With a few creative jokers to play with though, this game gives you all the tools to have a very fun night in. »

GameSpew 70/100

« What The Dub?! isn’t the sort of game that will keep you entertained for hours on end. But it is the sort of thing you’ll pull out for half an hour at a party or gathering, and have a laugh with. With over 300 movie clips included in the game, it’ll be a while until you start seeing repeats, too. The more ridiculous or rude you get, the more hilarity is likely to ensue. Needless to say, if you’re a fan of Jackbox’s games, then What The Dub?! is worth checking out. »

GamingTrend 60/100

« In the end, What The Dub?! has only one trick. While that trick can be and is a lot of fun to mess around with, it wears out its welcome a bit too quickly. Although text-to-speech is a great idea and sound effects are a worthy addition, the b-movie clips feel like they’re on repeat after a while, and the pacing can leave you in the lurch. I hope that the game can get some additional support, and with some additional footage maybe over time it can improve, but as of now it feels a bit hollow. »
