Cinescape 100/100

« Its great controls, super-realistic physics and astounding graphics will leave you searching for a towel. »

IGN 92/100

« Its airtight control, breathtaking weather effects, and stunning wave complexity combine for an irresistible racing experience. »

GameCube Europe 92/100

« It’s a great laugh in 4-player and the 1-player Championship mode is well tough to beat. »

TotalGames.net 90/100

« Not only is it the most beautiful racing game we’ve seen since SEGA’s "Ferrari F355 Challenge," but it’s also more playable—amazingly—than "WaveRace 64." »

GameSpot 85/100

« While not perfect, Wave Race: Blue Storm is the most accurate video game representation of water-based racing ever to be released. »

GameShark 85/100

« The Game Cube controller, while receiving some criticism when it was first announced, provides perfect button usage with WR. »

Game Informer 85/100

« The levels are eerily familiar to the Nintendo 64 game. [Nov 2001, p.116] »

Nintendojo 80/100

« This game hit its peak on the N64, and while NST has done a great job at polishing and cleaning it so that it’s super tidy and sharp, it really doesn’t revolutionize the original title. »

Nuntan413 5/10

« Like i have 5 games and i played this one and then didnt play again in the future, it depends. »

HaslageNet 7/10

« This game does not offer as much as I may have wanted. While you can unlock some interesting levels via code entries and am able to ride a dolphin, this game lacks something. I know, I said it before, but it does. I feel empty after playing it. Maybe I am spoiled by all the games with all the hidden extras and limitless features, who knows? This game is modest and is worth a play. If you liked the first Wave Race, you will love this. Do not forget your wet suit and enjoy! »

Eebowai85 7/10

« This is a really fun game. It's definitely better than the original Wave Race. Sadly, it never got a price drop in stores. The physics feel right and the controls are tight. »

Smac_up 9/10

« This game is super run but only when you get used to it other then that its amazing and has great graphics especially in progressive scan mode »

neojotic 9/10

« Amazing game! An often overlooked Nintendo franchise. Only had 1 friend I could play multi player with but unfortunately, lost contact with them. Everyone else either doesn't know how to drive in the water or thinks it's "too hard". The graphics are amazing, the sound is amazing and the levels have so much charm. This game is gem and is far superior to any other gen 6 game in this genre. The fact there has been no wave race game since is disappointing but this game still holds up today. Perfect display of Gamecube's abilities. »
