Description (IGDB)

Tomb Raider III: Adventures of Lara Croft is a platform and third-person shooter game developed by Core Design and published by Eidos Interactive. It is the third installment in the Tomb Raider series and the sequel to Tomb Raider II. The gameplay system is similar to the one implemented in the previous game. Lara's abilities include running, jumping, climbing, swimming, rolling, crouching, crawling, sprinting, and swinging on bars and vines. A few new types of hazards have been added in this installment, including cold water in which Lara can swim for a limited amount of time, dangerous underwater creatures (such as piranhas), and the treacherous quicksand, which will swallow the heroine if the player isn't careful and fast enough to prevent her from falling into it.

Histoire (IGDB)

The intrepid archaeologist Lara Croft ventures to India, searching for a legendary stone that once belonged to the tribe of Infada. Shortly after recovering the precious stone, she encounters a Dr. Willard, the head of an organization known as RX Tech. Willard is interested in an ancient Polynesian city built by people of a now defunct civilization, which worshipped a mysterious meteorite that hit the Earth millions of years ago. Willard tells Lara that the Infada Stone is in fact one of the four artifacts the ancient Polynesians fashioned from the material contained in the meteorite's core. Willard suggests Lara should look for the other three, scattered and hidden in various regions of the planet.

Avis des critiques et joueurs

Critiques de la Presse (Metacritic)

Absolute Playstation 95/100

« In gameplay terms Lara's latest adventures are by far the best... but don't expect an easy ride... I say if you can't stand the heat.... then get out of the jungle. »

TotalGames.net 93/100

« Tomb Raider III may essentially be more of the same apart from a few new bells and whistles, but with gameplay as engrossing as this, perhaps that's no bad thing. It still walks all over young pretenders like ODT. »

Games Radar 92/100

« The AI of Lara's assailants is markedly improved, the level design is ambitious (sometimes overly so) and there are a number of small, yet notable additions to the TR repertoire. »

PSX Nation 85/100

« Although there is little different this time, the game continues the same path that made Lara a superstar. »

IGN 80/100

« The sad thing is that Tomb Raider III solves none of its original dilemmas, and as it stands now, the exploration-adventure genre -- one that was revolutionized by Tomb Raider -- is in the exact spot it was two years ago. »

GameShark 80/100

« If you're a diehard Lara fan, you're going to dig this intense game. But if you haven't experienced Tomb Raider before, be warned that its mind-bending puzzles and tense action will challenge even the most seasoned gamers. »

GamePro 80/100

« Lara's latest riveting adventure plays like her others, and if you're a fan, you'll be instantly hooked. The control and severity of the puzzles will drive you insane at times--but no one said it would be easy. »

All Game Guide 80/100

« When in the first-person view, it is occasionally difficult to see what lies on the other side of Lara's back. It would have been helpful if she became transparent while in this mode, instead of making the player struggle with the angle. Fortunately, the instances where this affects gameplay are relatively few. »

« Cant Change the controls Fr Fr. Prob my same Thing as the second game i mean :/ »

Faxi3Maxi3 7/10

« This is where the franchise started to lose me. Tomb Raider 3 is still good! Still very much the classic Lara Croft adventure experience. I liked the different locations and outfits, and being able to tackle the levels in any order was ahead of its time. Tomb raider 1 - 3 is the classic tomb raider experience for me »

MuhammadTayyab 10/10

« Tomb Raider III:Adventures of Lara Croft is the best Tomb Raider game in the **** has lots of locations -India -London -Nevada -South Pacific -Antarctica It has very good graphics and sound **** has lots of Vehicles such as Quad bike,Underwater propulsion unit, kayak and minecart **** is a masterpiece game.I love this game️️ »

GiantLL 10/10

« my 2d favorite game of all time, an absolute classic, the non linearity progression, the enviroments, exploration, the atmosphere and combat are at their peak here; the storyline, specially the background lore is fascinating, deep and very solid. Despite its flaws on PS1 with all the overwhelmingly dark areas and limited save crystals for the game with the most **** and unpredictable traps in the entire franchise, it might easily rank as the hardest PS1 title of all time, but not for the best reasons though. »

ValexKidd 9/10

« When I was a teenager I found this game to be incredibly difficult, I kept getting stuck continuously and had to use cheats to be able to play all the levels. So, objectively, the game doesn't deserve such a good rating due to its extreme difficulty (although this difficulty created an addictive obsession). Despite the graphics being fantastic for its time, there were big problems with them that made me get stuck because I couldn’t see crucial objects like keys on the floor or levers on the walls, they should have been highlighted. Another factor that contributed to its difficulty was the limited quantity of good quality ammo, health packs and save crystals (because you couldn't save whenever you wanted); this made the game a survival adventure. What I loved about TR3 was that it really made me feel like I was living an adventure, with a fantastic soundtrack with ambience sounds that made feel inside the game, and I had friends that felt the same. This was the first Tomb Raider I played and it is one of those games that make me feel nostalgia, and it also comes to mind when I feel an itch for adventure. Ultimately, pure adventure and great memories. »

Giann96 4/10

« Tenía buenas ideas pero está totalmente desenfocado, los tiroteos siguen siendo igual de mediocres después de dos entregas, el plataformeo está diluido y los escenarios son más crípticos que nunca. »

C2V 2/10

« Injouable à la manette. D’une difficulté indécente, jeu punitif qui oblige à mourir pour voir les pièges. Les contrôles sont profondément mal faits, le stick analogique très imprécis. »

RTCWFAN 9/10

« Even today Tomb Raider III is the best istallment of the whole series. I like the restart of the series, but nothing beats pixel Lara on the first PlayStation. Fresh gameplay and controls - graphics surely are outdated. Overall rating: 8.6. »
