Tempest Rising
Tempest Rising
Description (IGDB)
Tempest Rising seamlessly merges the classic action of real-time strategy (RTS) games from the ‘90s and 2000s with modern production and performance standards. Encounter a battle-scarred 1997 in an alternate timeline where the Cuban Missile Crisis went nuclear. In the fallout from the war, a strange red electrical vine known as Tempest started spreading across the planet and changed the course of history. Tempest Rising gives players full command as they build up their bases, lead armies into battle, and execute bold strategies to emerge victorious. Experience the story of two different factions across two campaigns with deep and rewarding gameplay that keeps the focus on strategy and skill, with built-in customization options that let players approach the game their own way in both single-player and multiplayer.

« EA has been keeping us on a shoestring for too long now, so it's a good thing that someone fills this huge gap that has been plaguing our lives for years now. Tempest Rising takes all the elements that work in Command & Conquer and offers them to us on the 2025 hardware, without trying to invent anything special. The result is a complete success, and it wasn't a given, because doing simple things is always more complicated than it seems, as demonstrated by the latest spaghetti aglio olio e peperoncino that I prepared. »
« Tempest Rising blends old-school RTS brilliance with the power of modern technology, delivering a nostalgic yet fresh experience for everyone. Built in Unreal Engine 5, it looks great, plays even better, and hits all the right notes—gameplay, troop variety, quality-of-life, and sound. The multiplayer mode’s still catching up to the campaign, but with more content on the way, this game could easily surpass the classics it pays homage to. »
« Tempest Rising is an excellent real-time strategy game, inheriting the best traditions of '90s RTSs. It offers two highly entertaining, varied campaigns with well-designed missions, and two distinct factions. Its gameplay is deep and full of possibilities. A triumph that evokes the best sensations Command and Conquer offered in the mid-'90s. »
« Unashamedly retro in spirit yet modern where it counts, Tempest Rising is a riveting flashback to the halcyon days of the RTS. »
« Tempest Rising is finally an RTS that will appeal to both veterans and younger players. It offers a very pleasant compromise between classic gameplay and modern processing. Don't expect a lot of originality, but there's no shortage of fun. »
« We had high expectations for Tempest Rising and the game largely fulfilled them. The real-time spectacle looks top-notch and evokes fond memories of the halcyon days of Command & Conquer. »
« Tempest Rising wears its C&C influence proudly, and while this overreliance on tradition limits its full potential, Slipgate Ironworks’ overall effort is remarkable and must be celebrated. »
« Tempest Rising is the game we’ve always been waiting for, ever since EA stopped working on mainline C&C games. It has great factions, a really interesting story and there weren’t any major performance issues for me, either. The game runs great, the music is extremely good, and the visuals are up to par with what you would expect from this type of game. Should you try Tempest Rising? If you want a fast-paced strategy with a bunch of tactical options, it’s certainly a great option to consider. I enjoyed my time with Tempest Rising and low-key hope they will do an expansion soon. This type of game is not as common these days, but it’s definitely a breath of fresh air amongst all battle royales and free to play, battle pass-dependent titles. »
Avis des Joueurs (Metacritic)
« Its so annoying, like the game itself is fine. But the AI is so fking annoying. You cannot leave your troop alone for 5 secs without it doing something. The enermy attack, you'll think all the troops around the same spot will attack or will defend together. No, never! they always go in one at a time, and get killed. You'll think the AI will go, lets not send the weak armour against the tank first, but no, always the first one in. Its so stupidly annoying. »
« un bon jeux rts classique , la mise a jours pour les 1 an est top. Ce jeux a un bon potentiel. en espèrant qui va avoir du contenu les graphismes sont bien et le jeux tourne a merveille »
« I've been waiting for this game for years! A perfect sequel to the now-forgotten Command & Conquer series. It has everything every fan of the series loves. The graphics and music are stunning and will keep you glued to the screen for hours. The campaigns themselves are good, and the gameplay is addictive! »
« C&C remake LOL.FINALLY a nice RTS again. It copied almost everything from the C&C series but who cares? 2 fractions were different, but both of them were exciting. I RECOMMEND IT! »
« If you love the early Command and Conquer and Red Alert games, you're going to vibe with this big time. Really really well done RTS and the music soundtrack is insane. Frank still knows how to make a video game soundtrack. »
« Best RTS to come out in a loooooong effin time. Soundtrack, graphics, units, voice lines... everyting is so cool! Battles are big fun :) »
« Tempest Rising absolutely scratched my classic RTS itch. The campaign nails that C&C vibe, snappy base-building, punchy unit feedback, and mission variety that keeps the pace exciting without getting grindy. The solo storyline is solid and carried by great moment-to-moment combat and a nostalgic soundtrack. My only real wish: proper cinematic cutscenes à la Westwood Studios to elevate the narrative beats. Even without them, this feels like a love letter to the golden era of RTS. If you grew up on Command & Conquer, this is the modern fix you’ve been waiting for. »
« Wow! It feels like RTS from my childhood. Great game currently i'm in the middle of the GDF campaign and when i finish i will play second side. At least for now im very satisfied :) »
