Steel Division 2
Steel Division 2

« Steel Division 2 succeeds in its challenge of being more complete, epic and tedious. The Army General mode is the biggest addition, and is challenging enough that it should keep strategists on their toes for a while. The available arsenal is colossal, and can be modified in depth so that players can have fun in Skirmish mode on its 28 maps — some of which are gigantic. It's a beautiful, well-finished game, with its only downsides being the poor pathing of the AI and cruel lack of a tutorial for newcomers. »
« Steel Division 2 is a rich and complex strategy with plenty to offer those who can put the time into learning its intricacies. The fact that it’s so detailed makes the lack of a tutorial even more frustrating. Yet, I must admit, once I ‘got it’ I was having quite a lot of fun. I’m still yet to win a multiplayer match, and with the fanbase that developer Eugen has built up, it seems unlikely I ever will. If you’re already a fan of their work, you’ve probably already bought this. If you aren’t, but you are the sort of person who likes to wade into the thick of things, you’ll find that climbing the difficulty curve is far from a tankless task. »
« Steel Division 2 improves every aspect of the previous Normandy '44, but there isn't a tutorial and this could scare many new players. »
« Steel Division 2 is a deep and complex wargame, a lot more massive than the first game. Sadly it doesn't propose workshop at launch and it's a big problem because the first game survived mostly thanks to the mods. »
« Compared to its predecessor, Steel Division 2 is even more complex – mainly because of the new campaign mode. Although everything in the game is great for fans of real time strategy, it lacks of a real tutorial. That’s a shame, because without any help the game is much too complicated for beginners. »
« A great successor to a great game that pulls off everything its predecessor did, and something more besides. But there are also the same mistakes and some brand new ones. »
« If you really want to go deep into strategic battles and conquer every inch of the sometimes sprawling big cards, then Steel Division 2 is the place to go and gets tens of hours of entertainment with sophisticated battle strategies. However, those who do not like vigorous micromanagement should bypass the new digital Eastern Front. »
« Steel Division 2 is a game with some excellent ideas, such as the Army General campaigns, the attention to detail and the sheer size of battles in multiplayer and, to a lesser extent, skirmish. Also, it looks great and, despite the sheer size, can be really engrossing to play. At least for the most part, with the game being let down by an incredibly high barrier for entry, offering no help because the tutorial is a sheer Berlin-wall of text and an AI that seemingly decides it's only fair for it to cheat, all of which can take you out of the game. »

« solid game »
« It is complex and not for everyone but for those who like the genre it is an excellent game. »
« I quite like this game and I am doing well in it, but I prefer playing it purely singleplayer. Game can be really frustrating. Even on lower difficulties, the AI doesn't give the player any rest and cheats. It would be necessary for the AI to slow down a bit, especially in large maps. AI artillery really cheats. I spam artillery with the command to target enemy artillery, give it a commander, and still the AI always manages to destroy my arti ,while also managing to wipe out all my commanders and supply trucks across the map. The enemy's air force always seems to be 10 times superior to mine. I send a quick elite fighter plane and it gets shot down by a jeep with machine gun. I have 3x20mm flak guns with a commander next to them and the enemy just flies by and retreats. AI anti-tank guns are better and more dangerous than heavy tanks. They have disgusting accuracy and can wipe out both tanks and infantry. I really wish that when my supplies run out in a truck, I could withdraw it behind the front and call it back in some time. I would like the option to create my own deck (just for fun experimenting) because tank divisions usually have too little and poor infantry. The air force should be redesigned to be a bit more usable against AI. As it is now, the player has to eliminate enemy airforce by baiting them to AA. I usually use CAS and Air Force only in the third phase, when I have destroyed the enemy Air Force with AA. Slow CAS planes like the Stuka are not very usable when they get shot down by a gaz. It would also be nice if I made an infantry division with low anti-tank capabilities, for the AI to deploy something adequate against me instead of elite IS2 spam which I have no chance of destroying. Furthermore, it would be nice to have some dynamic campaign where the player would occupy the map and build their own deck, do some exploration, etc. I would lower the support tree prices. I don't like the general mode. Since first part Allies are stronger, easier and have better decks. »
« The game is well optimized, the setting of the game in 1944 is very pleasant and gives the possibility of many theatres of war. I like the game very much and recommend it »
« I liked it. Hard to learn, fun to play - that's about this game. Compared to SD Normandy 44, the new game in the series has become larger, the visuals have become more realistic. Army General mode is awesome with a unique experience. I like how they added the Russian side of the conflict, and the Baltic, Romania, Finland. Because of this, the new part has become larger not only in the gameplay, due to the large number of units under control and large maps, but also more diverse in the choice of the nation. I would also like to note that if you do not have DLC, this does not affect the experience in multiplayer. Even the basic set of armies (which is very extensive) can be played comfortably. The one thing that disappointed me was the new interface, which became more similar to the Wargame series. Personally, I liked the interface of the first part of SD. Also a minus for me is the lack of city battles, as it was in the first part. All battles take place either in the forest, fields or in the villages. My final mark is 9.5 points. Round 10. The best WW2 RTS for today. Me and my friends are enjoying this game. »
« Fantastic WWII experience 'Total War like'. It's not easy to get into this game especially if you never played Wargame/SD before, but in my opinion SD2 is the best WWII strategy, a love letter to fans of the genre, with hundreds well designed units and tons of fun. It's worth every penny! »
« игра откровенно смеется на чувствами советских ветеранов и оскорбляет память о жертвах и заслугах советских граждан! игра явно пропагандирует немцев в великой отечественной войне, а советские же войска здесь выставлены агрессорами и оккупантами. игра явно оскорбительная!!! »
« well we have one of the best war sim here. I am glad i played it cause by that u understand that was is not just tanks, solders and planes. it is also position, infantry support(by machine guns or mortars), air help. that tank is not ultimate weapon of war. Human is. And all other stuff is just helping him, I got interested in military history cause of that game. Awesome and super hard game play. I think it is THE game »
