Tekken 7, développé par Bandai Namco Studios et édité par Bandai Namco Entertainment, est sorti le 18 mars 2015 sur borne d'arcade. Ce jeu de combat de type arcade, propulsé par le moteur Unreal Engine 4, met en scène l'acte final du conflit opposant le Mishima Zaibatsu et la G Corporation, alors que la disparition de Jin Kazama permet à Heihachi Mishima de reprendre les rênes du Zaibatsu face à Kazuya et à la fin de la guerre familiale des Mishima. La presse a salué l'expérience proposée, Gaming Age y voyant « l'expérience Tekken ultime » et IGN qualifiant le titre de « jalon, un jeu de combat façonné avec une affection évidente ». Certains joueurs, à l'inverse, regrettent sur Steam de ne pas pouvoir suivre la difficulté du titre ou appellent à un retour à Tekken 5. Le jeu affiche un score agrégé de 82 sur Metacritic et OpenCritic.

« At its core, Tekken 7 is the ultimate Tekken experience. While paying tribute to previous games in the series, it’s also made for the hardcore Tekken fan in mind. Newcomers will also love it once you get a feel for the unique fight system. There isn’t much I didn’t enjoy with during my time with Tekken 7, other than it makes me want a new Soul Caliber with the same TLC that went into this game. I highly recommend picking up Tekken 7. »
« Tekken 7 truly is a hallmark, a fighting game crafted with obvious affection. It strikes a fine balance between accessibility to series newcomers and retaining much of its technical traditions. The soundtrack is an electronic treat, and while the story can at times seem a bit cliche, the fact that it never takes itself too seriously lets it bring in a tremendous amount of flexible character customization. Its dedication to the details helps push it into the position of my favorite fighting game of 2017 so far. »
