Ce titre d'aventure et de plateforme, propulsé par le moteur Goliath Engine et protégé par le DRM SecuROM v7.42.0004, mêle plusieurs univers parallèles de l'arachnide masqué en croisant les déclinaisons comics The Amazing Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2099, Spider-Man Noir et Ultimate Spider-Man, le héros devant récupérer les fragments d'une tablette éparpillés entre les dimensions. La durée de parcours annoncée est d'environ neuf heures et demie pour l'histoire principale et vingt heures pour une expérience complète. Le jeu a reçu un score Metacritic de 68 et une note agrégée de 70,60. Dans ses retours, la presse a salué l'énergie du titre et la qualité de ses antagonistes, Game Chronicles évoquant l'un de ses meilleurs jeux de 2010 et Impulsegamer soulignant l'absence de méchants anecdotiques, tandis que certains joueurs sur Metacritic ont averti les amateurs de mondes ouverts que le format ne correspondrait pas à leurs attentes, d'autres louant en turc l'histoire et le gameplay, notamment les segments 2099 et Ultimate.

« What is great about the game and the story line especially is that there are awesome villains and none of them seem like a throw away add on to the game. The levels leading up to boss battles are well designed, giving Spider-Man the chance to use his unique abilities. « Jogo bom em tropa, para você que é fã boy dos jogos de mundo aberto do cabeça de teia, esse jogo não é pra você, mas se você está disposto a aproveitar uma boa história que se passa em 4 universos diferentes, esse jogo é feito para você, nele você ingressa em uma jornada para salvar o multiverso com Noir, Miguel O'hara, Amazing e Ultimate, cada um com suas habilidades diferentes, os vilões são específicos de cada um dos spider, desde o Scorpion de 2099, até o Hammer Head do aranha Noir, a gameplay não é nada inovadora, longe disso, ela é bem mediana e imprecisa, mas os diversos combos ajudam a ficar melhor, tem uma grande quantidade habilidades compraveis, podendo ser para todos os spider ou para um específico, enfim, eu super recomendo para você que quer uma experiência de aventura e plataforma do miranha. »

« While critics prefer "Dimensions" to "Web of Shadows", I would argue it's not as good. But this is still a great action game that unfolds through 13 chapters. You play as four Spider-Men from the multiverse. Each of the levels conclude with a boss encounter with a classic Spidey villain. In terms of gameplay, it is mainly combat based, but there are stealth sections that are right out of "Arkham Asylum". In addition, there is plenty of content to unlock. If you played and enjoyed "X-Men Origins: Wolverine", then you'll love this title. I would rate it with an 8 out of 10. »

« A fun, but tough action game set in the Marvel multiverse. You play as four Spider-Men from different universes. The game features 13 linear levels that conclude with a boss fight. Most consist of brawling, but some are stealth only. They also contain plenty of emblems to collect and mini-accomplishments to complete. The fast, combo-based fighting is in the vein of "Devil May Cry". However, it's not quite as fluid as it should be. The stealth chapters can be clunky as well. On the plus side, there is plenty of bonus content to unlock. You can earn alternate costumes, character profiles, artwork and models. While the game can be repetitive and difficult, it's mostly fun. I would rate it with an 8.1 out of 10. »
