Gameplay de Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood

1UP 100/100

« Sonic Chronicles' light action elements provide plenty of fun puzzle-solving and exploration opportunities without cramping the fairly traditional RPG style. »

Official Nintendo Magazine UK 93/100

« Had Sonic Chronicles simply been a standard RPG with generic characters in it, it would still have been a fantastic title. The fact that it actually features familiar faces and backgrounds only adds to the enjoyment. »

Zentendo 90/100

« A welcome return of a quality Sonic title that brings back memories of first playing Sonic 1 on the Sega Mega Drive. With great graphics, great gameplay and a developed storyline that’s not overly serious, Sonic’s a great addition to all gamers. The only downside is the somewhat odd battle system. »

Gameplayer 90/100

« If you like either Sonic, or RPGs, you have to buy The Dark Brotherhood. It’s as perfect a handheld RPG as we’ve ever played. »

n-Revolution Magazine UK 90/100

« If there’s one game to get this month, Sonic Chronicles is it. It’s brilliant in every way, and we can’t get enough of it. »

Game Informer 85/100

« Sonic Chronicles is good for dedicated (and lapsed) fans, the BioWare faithful, and anyone just looking for a decent RPG on DS. »

Meristation 85/100

« Sega’s blue hedgehog comes back with his most unlikely incarnation: an RPG. Developed by BioWare, Sonic Chronicles is a good game, with a great pace, an interesting roster of characters, many things to do (especially side quests, BioWare’s favourites), and charming visuals. Sonic is back at his best, and we hope it’s the beginning of a new era for the hedgehog. »

GameFocus 83/100

« Graphically the game is every bit a Sonic game, with the bright colors and key level design choices you will recognize from the other Sonic games. There are plenty of big loops and curvy tracks which add to the entire experience. The characters you play with such as Sonic and Tails as well as the ones you fight the robots and even the basic animals you will fight are all designed well and animated very well. The game is done so well graphically, and even if you did not know you were going to look at a Sonic RPG, you could just see a couple of screens and easily see that the game is a Sonic game. »

« Sonic Chronicles has nice character interactions. I love the comic style and some story aspects, the rpg gameplay and the character Shade the Echidna. She should definitely try another sonic based rpg, but without touch gameplay. I would give ist a 7 or 8, but to anger Fully its a 10 »

« The "What Happen" documentary explaining this disaster was one of the funniest things on youtube. »

Odio 6/10

« As much as I personally love this game, and enjoy where the story goes, there are many points in the writing that show how rushed this was behind the scenes, not to mention the absolutely HORRIFIC sound design (Although if I've heard correctly, they had to scrap all sound assets in the last few months, without the lead sound designer) »

DunkAss 2/10

« Who in Sega really said "Let's make an RPG of Sonic" you know the guy who's entire point in the games is going fast, the idea can still be cool if the story and gameplay is quite decent but this is Sega we are talking about so like always they found a way to **** it up somehow, confusing and dumb story, trash combat that is just not fun at all, the ost manages to become THE worst Sonic soundtrack of all time, Chronicles is so bad even the soundtrack is and absolute dumpster fire »

DavidX505 9/10

« For this game being my first exposure to the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise as a whole, I still find myself going back to this title multiple times for nostalgic purposes. I mostly feel like this game is very under apreciated for what it tries to do. Luckly, there is some one out there who has been working for the past few years with a whole team that has been creating a complete overhaul project called Sonic Chronicles Reimagined. He and his crew are completely recreating the whole game from scratch and plan to make it a much more suitable experience for Sonic fans to try out. I can hardly wait when the first demo comes out. « I beat this game twice (and I plan to play beat it even more times). The story is really good. The combat is super repetitive, to the point I almost dread entering battles sometimes, but it can be fun to get good at it. The puzzles are laughably easy, except for the last one, which was more confusing than it needed to be. Everything else about the game is fairly good. Also, I like the music in the game, it's not nearly as bad as people say it is. »

E102Gamma 5/10

« This was my very first RPG. I've completed it three times since first getting it in middle school and it's fine. I'm no expert on RPGs so I won't talk about this for long. I don't remember the story very well as each playthrough lasted over the course of years taking frequent and long breaks along the way. The ending was very underwhelming and it did cause a series of legal battles for a couple years so there's that. »
