Railroad Corporation, développé par Corbie Games et édité par Iceberg Interactive, est paru le 18 novembre 2019 sur PC (Microsoft Windows). Ce jeu de simulation, de stratégie et indépendant, propulsé par le moteur Unity, invite à revivre l'esprit pionnier de l'âge d'or de la vapeur en fondant un empire ferroviaire à travers l'Amérique du Nord du 19e siècle. Le joueur commence sa carrière en tant qu'employé ambitieux au sein d'une compagnie ferroviaire, gérant ses activités selon les ordres de ses patrons, avant de fonder sa propre société pour développer l'économie locale et faire fortune dans le Nouveau Monde.
La construction de lignes ferroviaires, de tunnels et de ponts entre des villes anciennes ou nouvelles constitue le cœur de l'expérience, le joueur devant parfois dynamiter et creuser des décors pour faire passer le chemin de fer. Il peut choisir parmi des locomotives et du matériel roulant historiquement fidèles, et entreprendre des recherches pour les améliorer. La gestion s'étend à l'influence sur les villes et villages, l'achat de propriétés, les nouveaux investissements, le jeu en bourse et les pressions sur les politiciens, le tout en gardant un œil sur la concurrence d'autres magnats. Il est possible d'y jouer seul, contre un adversaire ou contre de nombreux concurrents.
La durée de la campagne principale est estimée à 30 heures et demie, et une partie complétiste à 69 heures et demie. Le titre est proposé au prix de 35,10 EUR et affiche une note agrégée de 60,00.
Concernant l'accueil critique et des joueurs, les opinions ont été partagées. LEVEL (Czech Republic) a indiqué : « A railroad tycoon approached with business talent. The economic part of the game is worth the attention as well as the scientific research. « Although I had some issues with the track laying nuances in Railroad Corporation, I was able to overlook them and enjoy the game for what it is – a relaxing train simulation in the mould of the classic Railroad Tycoon. Small map campaigns allow for reasonably short playthroughs, each with different goals that help gamers gradually familiarise themselves with its gameplay mechanics. The lack of proper instructions or guidance for anything outside the basic mechanics was disappointing but having said that, there is a sense of achievement when your little railroad empire is running like clockwork though, knowing that you’ve done so with minimal assistance. »

« Railroad Corporation is a mixed bag, to be generous to the game. While it has certain strong points like the corporation building aspects, featuring a large variety of structures and businesses to supply and even own, as you utilise them to expand your corporation and develop the towns and cities around you. These cities react to your network of railways and businesses, creating the feeling of a living world. The problem, however, is that fundamental basics like even building your tracks is finicky at best, most of the time just annoying. Railroad Corporation can absorb you into it, it's certainly stole hours off of me, but the best I can say is that it's left early access too early and could certainly have done with a little more time. »

« This is a transportation management game with trains. Track laying is not ideal, also signalling and train movement, but when you get used to it, it become ok. Replayability is not great, and scenarios not always very interesting. But if you a fan, and like finetune your routes this game will entertain you for a while. »
