Professor Layton and the Curious Village
Professor Layton and the Curious Village est un jeu de réflexion et de puzzle développé par LEVEL-5, sorti le 15 février 2007 et disponible sur Nintendo DS, Android et iOS. Le titre mêle point-and-click, énigmes et visual novel, et suit le professeur Layton et son apprenti Luke dans le village de St. Mystere. Après la mort du riche baron Augustus Reinhold, son testament révèle l’existence d’un trésor caché dans le village. Alors que les habitants communiquent parénigmes, verrouillent leurs portes avec des puzzles à glissement et dissimulent leurs secrets derrière des casse-tête, l’arrivée du duo est rapidement troublée par la mort suspecte d’un autre membre de la famille Reinhold.
Édité par LEVEL-5 et Nintendo, le jeu a reçu un accueil favorable. GameShark a salué l’un des plus beaux débuts de nouvelle licence et souligné sa capacité à combiner puzzles et aventure, tandis que Modojo a évoqué un ensemble cohérent, presque miraculeux. Le titre obtient un score agrégé de 84,71. Certains joueurs de Metacritic comprennent la notoriété du jeu mais estiment qu’avec le temps, l’usage des fonctions de la DS a perdu de sa cohérence ; d’autres apprécient particulièrement le style et les cinématiques anime.
L’histoire principale demande environ onze heures et demie, et un parcours complet peut s’étendre jusqu’à quatorze heures.

« I can see why it's so famous, it must have been very interesting in its time, especially because of its use of the DS's features, but it's lost some of its coherence for me. I was expecting a story that wasn't so unrealistic, and the puzzles have pulled me out of the narrative a bit because many times they don't make any sense. »

Sola.ente tiene dos canciones, pero van acorde a su atmósfera. Lo mejor es su muy interesante historia, y sus adictivos puzzles. El único pero que le puedo poner es que hay algunos puzzles (muy pocos) que me han parecido injustos, ya sea por su planteamiento o porque no los he entendido bien. Si te gustan este ripo de juegos no puedes perderte esta joya, aunque aviso que los puzzles los hay de todo tipo, desde fáciles a realmente difíciles. »

« Professor Layton is one of the best video game franchises in history and this game proves it. I love every single one of the clever and fun puzzles in this game. Some of them are not too complicated but others you will have to use all your brains to solve. Like all Leve 5 games, it has a noticeable focus on humour and the mystery that awaits you throughout the game is structured in a very good and clever way. This game can be enjoyed by everyone; old or young? it doesn't matter, even a person who initially didn't like puzzle games too much (like me) can enjoy it and even fall in love with the genre just by trying this title (like me again XD). A highly recommended game in my opinion. 9.4/10 »
