Sorti le 13 septembre 2016, Pro Evolution Soccer 2017 constitue le seizième épisode de la série de simulation sportive développée par Konami Digital Entertainment et PES Productions, et éditée par Konami. Le jeu est disponible sur PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One et PC Windows, et utilise le Fox Engine. Il appartient aux genres Simulation et Sport.
La version Windows intègre les protections Steam et Denuvo Anti-Tamper, avec un mode hors ligne pris en charge après le lancement. À sa sortie, le titre affiche un score Metacritic de 69, un score OpenCritic de 83 et une note moyenne agrégée de 76,10.
L’accueil critique souligne les progrès accomplis par la série.
