Phantom Brigade
Phantom Brigade

« Phantom Brigade contains two distinctive halves: the lovingly crafted battle system and the almost-but-not-quite overworld. It’s understandable that a first-time team with an excellent idea would choose to be laser-focused on that one idea, but the game could have been a classic if the rest were fleshed out. In a crowded factory of mech games, Phantom Brigade performs well in combat; it’s just not much to look at. »
« Phantom Brigade strikes me as a title with a very cool core mechanic around which the game has sadly been forgotten. »
« An exciting concept begging for structural refinements and more meat on its robot bones. »
« Phantom Brigade is great fun, but not for the length of time you're expected to be playing it. Any long-term engagement is hampered by a lack of variety. »
« Phantom Brigade is a game based on an exceptional idea that works great for a few hours, but is broken by a poorly executed progression system that exposes all its limitations. »

« Hidden gem. If you like front mission xcom etc games try this one. 2.0 update is nice. AAA game from pizza price. »
« Phantom Brigade is a game where you have the upper-hand on the enemy at all times! Except for the times when they have 4 times your troops. Anyway, enough lategame poking. You have a technology that lets you see 5 seconds into the future, predicting exactly what the enemy is going to do. You are given a 5 second timeline where you can do whatever you want (the only thing stopping you is your mech heating). The game offers many different weapons with different mechanisms as well as different weapons INSIDE those very categories that specialize in different ranges, damage types, etc. The game is entirely depending on your ability to predict the enemy because it really loves to spam a bunch of enemies on you. I personally didnt mind it but I can see some players not being able to control all the action economy. Another complaint I have from the game and that is the boss fights. You know how the game gives the enemy more action economy than you normally ? Well it tries to do that with bosses as well but since the bosses are all single targets, it doesnt really work out which makes the boss fights very much on the easier side than normal fights. Because of all the things happening at the same time even high-end PC's might struggle sometimes and it is to be expected once you see some of the missions later on into the game. I also found some weapon types to be not intended for palyer use and instead for enemy troops to "not deal good damage" to you. Assault rifles, handguns, SMG's all feel very underpowered than missile launchers, the "heavy" category, shotguns and repeaters. But putting all these aside I personally think that this is a great game that any "timeline-turn-based" enjoyers can pick up and have a nice and fun 40 hours in. »
« Great concept, interesting ideas and map but it shows it was done with few resources. »
« Interesting concept but very very poor quality. First 1-2h was more or less ok but in core this game lack any value. 30 sec turns ok nice idea but in core you can predict enemy movement but you cannot predict what is percent chance to destroy it so you fire more than needed wtf... i dont understand why i cant see percent chance that in 18sec my shoot will destroy enemy or not sooo i can add or remove additional attacks »
« A fantastic, dynamic, and engaging campaign. It is a love letter to mech focused games. Incredible depth, roguelike elements, and an innovative combat system that is a joy to play. Watching mech engage each other is a marvel. With echoes of Battletech, Robotech, and XCOM 1/2, this is a game to play forever. »
