« I really can't stress how much fun NPPL Championship Paintball 2009 can be, provided you take it upon yourself to make it fun. Unfortunately, there's not much to keep the player engaged for the long run -- a fact exacerbated by the awkward animation, minor technical snafus, and the mid-nineties, Gen-X rut the soundtrack fell into. »
« It’s easy to see how paintball enthusiasts could love this game, but hard to envision anybody else spending more than an hour playing it before they got bored and disillusioned. »
« Playing online with human opponents adds a bit of longevity to the experience but ultimately NPPL just gets monotonous far too quickly. »
« NPPL Championship Paintball 2009 is a bad game overall. AI issues contribute to the problematic gameplay; controls are serviceable, but the graphics and sound fail to inspire. »
« Sadly, this is a game that certainly does have the potential of being a worthwhile paintball title but falls short in so many ways that even shooter fans will be greatly disappointed. »
« In my younger years, a kid who lived up the street, let's call him "Bad Pete," had a bright idea involving some frozen Gobstopper candies and his paintball gun. The giant purple welts that followed were far, FAR more painful than playing this game, but not by much. »
« Essentially, the only thing that kept us playing the campaign mode was to escape the horrible rap metal in the menu screens. [Mar 2009, p.83] »
« Not terrible, but so dry it’s pointless. If videogame paintball appeals you may be entertained, but boredom will set in. »
