Critiques de la Presse (Metacritic)
« If you’ve felt like some of the old-school magic has been missing from Super Mario games lately, let Luigi guide you through some of the most satisfying platform gaming ever designed. »
« You get a whole new slew of 80 levels that takes about as long as the main game to get through, and has even more to do because it’s just so amazingly difficult. While some of the visual elements feel a little pasted-in, New Super Luigi U adds enough fresh things to an already excellent base game to be more than worth your time. »
« As a "DLC" and at a price point of just $20 New Super Luigi U should already be on your hard drive. Yes, it's that good! »
« Luigi’s expansion is as big as a whole new game filled of playful and innovative level design. The significantly higher difficulty level is welcome and feels like atribute to The Lost Levels, and if you’ve ever liked challenging platform games New Super Luigi U is a must have. »
« New Super Luigi U is the kind of game the Wii U needs. It’s familiar enough to bring in long-time Nintendo fans; it’s new enough to bring in the newcomers; and it’s challenging and rewarding enough to keep people playing. »
« If you have some resistance against frustration and want a short but intensive trip into the New Super Mario Bros. Universe, you should keep that addition in mind. »
« New Super Luigi U is an awesome DLC, a collection of 83 fragments of pure game design that is able to amaze, frustrate and, in the end, satisfy every gamer. It seems that every level is packed with content, but maybe it's just the forced fast pace that gamers have to embrace. »
« Despite a shorter adventure, the sense of challenge and the high density make this Add-On highly recommended. »
Avis des Joueurs (Metacritic)
« It's literally just NSMB U but modified to make the levels harder and shorter, and you play as Luigi of course. It's like an official ROM-hack. Overall decent. »
« Es ist genau so wie NSMBU, nur Level wurden umgebaut und schwerer gemacht. Die Level sind auch viel kürzer und man hat weniger Zeit. Ist aufjedenfall eine coole Challenge. Ich habe auch kein Problem damit, dass Luigi auf dem Boden rutscht und sich schwammiger steuert. »
« New Super Luigi U is definitely the second best game from the “New”-series, of course behind NSMB. Its core feature - fast-paced levels with more challenge - presents NSMBU in a new and for me, better light. However, since it`s technically a DLC, it still shares the same issues as NSMBU. But still, its different approach feels, or rather felt refreshing. Overall, the game is fine and worth playing at least once. 6,6/10 »
« Better than the original game, even though the controls for luigi give me lost levels flashbacks but the challenge makes it more enjoyable »
« New Super Luigi U ironically gives new life to the New Super Mario series by not just being something that mimics the aesthetic look of the older games, but also the difficulty. Why Mario is gone and Nabbit is helping is never answer or the fact that this game's fast pace action makes it a short ride; Luigi U still manages to provide a fun time for any person that wants a reminder why gamers love platformers. »
« NSLU it's a great refresh after nsmb2 and nsmbu, the shorter and harder levels are a perfect new mechanic, with GREAT level design. Mario fans always says that the New Series are just made of generic and Basic games, with no creativity, but seems like they forgot that this game exist, man tell me another dlc that was so good, they made an physical version to sell. My favorite game :) »
« As if making a "hard mode" game with a free access easy mode character and being a copy-paste **** that's already a copy-paste of the Wii and DS versions wasn't bad enough, this game completely fails to represent its protagonist. Ever since Luigi's mansion on GameCube, Nintendo has tried its best to show how Luigi is different from Mario: having its own stories and character intereactions, this game is the exact opposite of that. Worst Mario game I've played ever, even the educational N64 games had more of an excuse to be that bad. »
« This is what Mario U should have been in the first place. Luigi U improves the level design, difficulty, and gameplay mechanics to provide a more refined experience, while still retaining its ties to the original launch title. Luigi's higher jump makes the game more enjoyable to control and is better suited for the new short, fast-paced levels. However, after a seven-month-long drought of first-party games since launch, this was the last thing the Wii U needed. The NSMB series was already incredibly stale, and Luigi U did little to change this. With all its assets carried over from Mario U, it's pretty much a rom hack of the original game without any semblance of originality. While it does stick out as the best of the post-Wii NSMB games, it does more so as the lesser of three evils than as the "new", original title the series needed. The Wii U deserved better. »
