IGN Sweden 72/100

« Moto Racer 4 is a game that demands a lot from the player both in terms of patience and dexterity, its graphics are not the best and the hyped VR mode is somewhat of a bad joke. But if you can ignore the forgettable heavy metal soundtrack and can appreciate the gameplay consisting of challenges instead of regular races, you have a lot to do here. Should you prefer to burn rubber around in circles though, is not the game for you. However, if you love twitchy arcade racers and like to challenge yourself, you should definitely pick up Moto Racer 4. »

3DJuegos 60/100

« Another generic arcade racer fun but forgettable in every way. »

Vandal 55/100

« It does a few things right, but it also fails to build an engaging experience, feeling basic and repetitive. Still, if you really love the genre, it can be fun. »

PlaySense 55/100

« Arcade through and through, yet ancient physics, weird design choices and a faulty VR-mode ultimately lead this brave attempt at rebooting a franchise to an early grave. »

GameSpew 50/100

« Even with fairly decent driving gameplay and a somewhat unique career progression system, Moto Racer 4 simply doesn’t do enough to wow veteran racing game fans or woo in newcomers who might be tempted to put pedal to the metal. »

XGN 50/100

« Moto Racer 4 is the return of a franchise. The game starts out nicely, but quickly loses its charm. The same tracks keep returning and the career mode is no career mode. And with the illogical elements in the game it's no more than a mediocre racer. »

COGconnected 50/100

« Moto Racer 4 is a prime example of a missed opportunity. The gameplay is enjoyable in small bursts, but it’s packaged in such a terrible way that it becomes hard to recommend even to longtime fans of the series. With some extra polish and a different structure it could’ve been a surprisingly fun throwback package, but in its current state it reeks of being rushed to release. »

Digitally Downloaded 40/100

« Moto Racer 4 is not a bad game, but it is a shallow, arcade motorcycle racer. It might be perfectly serviceable, and average racer that is fun enough in short spurts, but it really doesn't do enough to separate itself from the racing pack in any meaningful or memorable way either. »

« its a game that shows simulation of moto bikes races where time penalty's can be negative , tracks can be in reverse on dirt or tarmac , its seems under finished were more tracks and areas of races would and could be made it takes nearly 8 years to make motoracer 4 from motoracer 3 its seems unfinished competitions are negative where clear to see , other similar bikes would better as time penalty's are too often and competitions to long 10 races »

« If you were a fan of Moto Racer 1, don’t believe the bad reviews: this game is awesome! I’ve read complaints that you have to unlock heaps of the game’s content in career mode before you can enjoy it in a quick race. That’s exactly what the original was like, so it’s a plus in my opinion. I like having to earn my fun. I’ve read complaints that it’s really challenging to win races on the highest difficulty. Again that’s exactly like the original where you needed a near perfect race to say ahead of the competition. I enjoy getting to know the tracks like the back of my hand in order to eek out an extra 0.05s improvement on my last time. I’ve read complaints that in split screen, there aren’t many game modes other than beating the other riders or racing against the clock. Once again, it’s exactly like the original which only had races and time trials. The reviewers will tell you to stay away if you were a fan of the originals, but it appears many of the reviewers either never played the original or they have bad memories. There are the hallmarks of MR1 all over this title, it’s like a remake for the current generation. My only issues are that the graphics aren’t great for a 4th gen console, and that your peripheral vision is cut down in split screen mode making it hard to navigate through tight corners that you can’t see around. However, if you can get past the sub-par graphics, which I quickly did, you’ll find there’s a whole lot of nostalgia combined with a heap of fun game play. Moto Racer 1 is my all-time favourite video game, and I feel like this is absolutely a worthy successor. »

« I wanted to like this. I wanted a good motorbike VR game, and the VR mode in moto race 4 ps4 is actually nice enough, even though the graphics are low res and blurry, compared to it's non-vr mode (but this is excepted with PS4 VR anyways). But what bugs me so much I had to write this is that there are only two short tracks for VR mode and more can be unlocked only by playing the non-vr mode, or at least this is what I assume having never got very far in the career mode, while being a hardcore arcade/driving gamer (trackmania, driveclub, nfs, ...) And here's where MR4 gets nightmarish, the non-vr career game is AWFUL, the controls are awkward: the bike responds to control with a lag, the physics are buggy: when you bump AI driver off the road, sometimes you suddenly fly great distances to completely different way you were going, graphics are in some parts very laggy (c'mon this is playstation 4! game should not lag this much!), sounds are just annoying (this large bike engine should have a low growling sound and not a high noise like a teenager's scooter or electric kitchen appliance), and the game has incredibly idiotic rating system where you before driving rate your own performance beforehand and If you don't meet it exactly, you get MINUS POINTS. I can't just figure out what the developers where thinking with this, what possible reason there could be for this ?? Overall feel of the game is very unfinished (I hope!) tested only by developers themselves and none actual real driving gamers (I know this is how it is in today's industry, but for a driving game, where the physics and playability are the nro. 1 thing, you'd except a lot more polished commercial product). I want more VR tracks but the game is so buggy, laggy and stupid-hard it makes me so angry and frustrated - why can't I just play all the VR tracks ! If all above faults were fixed and the vr mode made fully accessible, this would be actually a good game - but I except the full career VR mode targeted to PS4 Pro for more GPU juice - If something like that is coming in near future. »

SteveOMatic 7/10

« This game has definitely some problems (graphics are not that bad, physic is ok but not great). But if you reach world 4 you'll find some great gameplay features and the game become really good... it's 100% arcade it's maybe a bit too hard (but I like it like that) but it's a good old fashioned game. »

DominikFFM 3/10

« It's always nice to see an old-school arcade racer. No open world, fast paced gameplay, easy to pick up, split screen - it's all here. And unfortunately it's all bad. The controls ****, graphics are bad, difficulty is just unfair and frustrating and the sounds are horrible! There are some nice ideas in this game but it's just no fun. Just buy the fantastic trackmania turbo instead. »
