Histoire (IGDB)
General Donald Morden, the antagonist from the first game is back once more with his army, bent on taking over the world. It is up to the Peregrine Falcon squad, who are now joined by two new characters: Eri Kasamoto and Fiolina Germi of the Sparrows Intelligence Unit, to save the day. As the levels unfold, it turns out that Morden has allied with Martians to help facilitate his plans. Eventually the tables are turned when Morden comes under attack and is betrayed by his Martian allies. An ad-hoc alliance is formed between the Peregrine Falcon squad and General Morden's army to combat the greater alien threat.

Twitch Prime gives away 12 more games for free this month - check them out
August is now upon us which means more Twitch Prime goodies to pick up. If you have an Amazon Prime subscription, this month you'll be getting seven new games from developer SNK alongside five more free PC games. There are also in-game loot and cosmetics from Apex Legends, Red Dead Online, Grand Theft Auto Online, DOOM Eternal, League of Legends, and more. The SNK games up for grabs this month are Metal Slug 2, Shock Troopers: 2nd Squad, Baseball Stars 2, Sengoku 3, Ironclad, King of the Monsters, and the SNK 40th Anniversary Collection. This is only the second batch of SNK games, and there's still another to come. It's also worth noting that you still pick up the games from the first batch, which are: Art of Fighting 2, Blazing Star, Fatal Fury Special, The King of Fighters 2000, The King of Fighters 2002, Pulstar, and Samurai Shodown II. It's not all SNK, though, and you can also get Shaq Fu 2, Warsaw, Treachery in Beatdown City, Chroma Squad, and Blazing Chrome as part of this month's selection of free games. 30 arcade classics are free-to-keep on Twitch Prime
SNK has another wave of free PC games to distribute with Twitch Prime, and this time we've got a giant list of giveaways. The latest round of free SNK games includes six standalone titles and the wonderful SNK 40th Anniversary Collection, which makes for a total of 30 games, on top of the classic fighting games already available through the promotion. As of July 28, you can now claim the SNK 40th Anniversary Collection, Baseball Stars 2, Ironclad, King of the Monsters, Metal Slug 2, Shock Troopers: 2nd Squad, and Sengoku 3 through Twitch Prime. That's on top of the previous wave of SNK giveaways, including Art of Fighting 2, Blazing Star, Fatal Fury Special, King of Fighters 2000 and 2002, Pulstar, and Samurai Shodown 2. « By continually emulating, instead of innovating the METAL SLUG series, SNK PLAYMORE and DotEmu feel like their hands are tied when it comes to replicating the performance and precision of the Arcade originals; METAL SLUG 2 may not be the strongest of the originals, but it plays better on the iOS platform than previous releases and thus wins out by default. »
